Not after 5 months you already show good profit for someone who just hold. Great idea by the way.

I wanted to try as well but want on the tokens that are pretty cheaper, I'd probably start with dent, siacoin, dentacoin, xP and KIN. Altcoins that are pretty much cost cents and then see whether it can gain more than what OP got.

For five years you can invest money only in bitcoin all the other altcoyins are very dangerous to keep for so long. But the experiment is interesting, I will follow the results.

There is still a chance for other altcoins to improve its value since there are a lot of people today who are investing on ethereum and the demand is keep on increasing in the market, this is the reason why altcoins is still profitable even though bitcoins is existing with a very high rate of increasing its value in the market.

The idea is very good and will be interesting to many. The only time limit should be reduced to 3 years as it seems to me. And since new coins are issued quite often - the top 100 will be difficult to adjust.

I'm following this thread and I'm eager to see the results after 5 years!

It'll be really interesting to see how many coins survive for so long, and their respective value.
Holiday year 2022, I'm predicting above $100,000 total value. Only 25-30 of them will be above $10. While only 2-3 coins will be above $10.000.

This is a very interesting experiment, but you have been very lucky to start it in the best possible moment, exactly before all altcoins has started to take off and multiply their value by 10X and up to 100X - this is NOT something that usually happens on such a massive scale

I think now he can make a profit from his investment and he can try to sell the small amount to get his money back and keep the rest of the amount and wait until the price increase higher. this is a good lesson for all of us and we can learn from him and I think we can make our profit too but we need to try to choose the coins and try to search cheap coins because the chance is big to get an increase.

Your experiment is really interesting. Honestly i have the similar strategy with your experiment. I bought 8 altcoins outside top 100 cmc with my 0.02 BTC (0.0025 BTC for each altcoin) and hodl them for 1 year (started from november 2017). I don't want to sell them until november 2018 eventhough the price occasionally skyrocketing during that period.

yup as what I am experience before last September to now January we or I made some investments and some self experimentation

exists a small flaw that most of cryptocurrency prices are directly dependant on BTC price, but this can also be considered as an advantage. Let's look!
