I was wondering why different pools were showing a hashrate far less than the Antminer mining status page showed until I accidentally left the port number off slush's pool, and after 20 minutes of "mining," the software shows a super-inflated hashrate of 31,577, not 0 like you would expect.

I then activated slush's pool on miningrigrentals.com to see what would happen, and the hashrate came back down to normal, and the average slowly started coming up, like you would expect.

I then deactivated slush's pool on miningrigrentals.com, and after 17 minutes, one of my boards is magically mining at 140% of its alleged speed - while the other boards read "0". Funny thing is, if you look at the original messed up speeds, two of the boards are "hashing" at twice this speed, and one at the 140% - but not the same board, so that rules out a bad board.

I let Bitmain know, and they had this to say

Do you have other S9? Does other S9 have the same problem?
Please follow the instructions as below to change the pool setting to mine in antpool.
Step 1
Register on Antpool website, https://www.antpool.com/home.htm, do your own settings.
Step 2
Login the background system of miners, fill in the appropriate Bitcoin address, worker ID( the password could be blank) and save the profile. The miners will be added to antpool in a few minutes.
Worker ID settings: sub-account + ‘.’+ 001, sub-account + ‘.’ + 002 etc; each worker ID corresponds to a miner.
Step 3
About the return on investment,  you can choose different payment method. You can check the attachment to decide which one you want to choose. And you can also go to Antpool support for more details. https://www.antpool.com/support.htm

For not using Antminer to mine bitcoin, we recommend you go to our Hashnest to start mining. https://www.hashnest.com/?locale=en
There are the precisely steps to tell you how to mine there.

Please provide us with the screenshot for reference after you done that.

Best Regards,
Quentin

Here are the screenshots in chronological order. What is going on here? Oh, and this was a fresh, hard reset with pools manually entered.
