There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I haven't heard anything about the case...

The bankruptcy lawyers are still struggling to take Cypherdoc's sales commission, because that's the only way they're going to get paid for making a hopeless shambles of the Chapter 11 process.

Morici recently moved the Court to dismiss his own fraud claims against Simon Barber, because his windfall-seeking case was a giant nothingburger.

Despite the persistent absence of supporting facts, RoadStress still claims we did something wrong.  But that's just because he's so eternally butthurt about losing the Battle For 20MB GavinBlocks....  "20MB RIGHT MEOW" was a stupid idea; he should have listened to Guy.

The most recent ASIC company win. KNC miner. Still 100 or so little class actions to sort thru there....likely all will get reamed as the two big cases got hosed......just saying...

http://www.coindesk.com/swedish-court-rules-against-kncminer-mining-hardware-customers/

(also don't forget BFL where the corp ate the losses in bankruptcy and thru receivership with the FTC and the principal's paid a big 8k in fines and have now walked..lol ) Smiley

Yeah I learned a lot about consumer protection there is NONE anywhere in the world. (case in point GM with its keeping the
ignition problems they had secret were proved to have killed over 100 people over the 15 or so years they hid such....thus
the US govt fined them 1 billion dollars but NO ONE is going to jail for it...how it it is done now..corp takes the fall..can't pay and then goes bankrupt only the lawyers (or in BFL case the folk in receivership) made big $$$....nothing left to the folk screwed with product.

well anyway ..makes me wonder how much my HOUSE insurance would really cover or my Medical Insurance..if it is this
lopsided with consumer protection stuff..just think how anal it is when you start talking big time insurance $$$$ vs yourself Sad

live and learn I guesS

Sad sad situation. So much money lost. I so regret buying into Cypherdoc's sales BS. OK, well I wish I could say this whole journey has been fun but it hasn't. Time to move on and stop giving a shit about this thread.

As predicted based on the obvious facts of the matter and common law in general, Morici's false scam accusation/illegal windfall demand went nowhere in court; he eventually moved to dismiss his own case.

And now the equally ridiculous case against cypherdoc is over.

Did they reach a settlement or what?

Well, it looks like SF's DA learned something about preorders and false advertising after all:

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/01/13/lily_robotics_faces_lawsuit_for_false_advertising/

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)
Hashfast.org - Wiki for screwed customers

What a silly attempt at argument by analogy.  The Lily Robotics case is completely unrelated to HF, other than also being located in SF.

It's hilarious you must resort to grasping at such hopelessly weak straws, since the rest of your defamatory nonsense got BTFO by two different Judges.

You never put any of your own money into the bankruptcy/fraud efforts because you knew they would be fruitless, yet you still goaded others into pursuing the exorbitantly expensive and utterly counterproductive Let's All Lawyer Up And Fight strategy.

How many times did you proclaim your lawyer's case against HF would be easily won in court, and the judge would send people to jail?  Two dozen?  Three dozen?

Mmmm ya...that never happened.  You didn't even bother to participate in the two three USELESS years of ensuing court drama THAT YOU HELPED PROVOKE.

Posting off-topic trivia about irrelevant current events is your way of avoiding cognitive dissonance and the sting of being completely wrong (and worst of all, losing the long-running debate to your nemesis, iCEBREAKER!  Cheesy).

I know, no problem. The current BTC exchange rate just made me recall how much more BTC I would have, if I hadn't made "investment" errors like this one.
