If you will get the first, first one.  And you HOPE that will be last week of October.  AND the crypto guy gets his after you.  How are people still expecting to see shipping in 8 days? 

I know you're getting a bit defensive at my insistence; to a fault.  But, the holes are glaringly obvious.  As a pre-orderer, I am starting to get antsy at your defensiveness and lack of concrete facts when it comes to the system build (after the chips, thanks for semi 101).  And I'm hoping everyone else gets the same impression.  That is the only way we will get some concrete information aside from 'hope' 'trust' 'maybe' 'soon'. 

Stop flailing your arms and steamrolling and answer with some facts.  Or, if you insist, pipe down and let someone with HF_ in their name answer.

You need to get this through your head - Hashfast doesn't owe you any information about their vendors.  No manufacturer does, or is likely to provide this for your edification.   On time, late, or otherwise, you haven't signed an NDA and you don't have a right or a need to know.  Pre-ordering a few boxes does not qualify as a need-to-know.

They can certainly release some of this information if they choose to, but that is their prerogative - they don't owe this kind of information to anyone...

It shows you don't read KnC thread, otherwise you would appreciate responsiveness of several HashFast people here. They are miles ahead of KnC, which left the communication to the outside world to sub-par self hosed forum, and non-employe (Bitshilldrama) on this forum.

Really? Please show us where several representatives of KnC posted on this forum the very same day questions being asked. They ignore this user base completely. Look at the whine because their shipping is halted for a week due to the firmware problems, they are nowhere to be seen. Compare that to responses here.

One thing I would point out is that batch 1 is a single design single board per unit only and was limited to 500 units.  So the difference between first and last isn't quite the same as being the difference between the first and last BFL order.

I have no idea if HF can meet their deadline.  No company to date has.   The closest would probably by Bitfury (US distributor) with only a 3-4 day delay for all batch 1 orders and the worst is BFL with a 6-9 month delay.   That being said assuming they have competent production and can move out 100 to 150 units a day (pretty conservative) the timeframe from first unit to last unit would be 3 to 5 days.

What concrete fact are you looking for.  I have found if you ask a specific direct question the HF staff will generally respond (although it can take a couple days).  Vague questions like give us your entire supply chain are likely not going to get answered.

I'm a batch one customer that has also ordered an upgrade kit, to fill that second slot on the Baby Jet.  Some information I would like to have concerns installation of the upgrade kit.  The news that the ASIC is on a board already is quite good but, more specifically, what's the upgrade procedure going to be like?  As in... what kind of tools or skills required?

I'm comfortable doing basic computer upgrades and maintenance - installing and replacing drives, fans, memory, etc.. - but haven't wielded a soldering iron in twenty years.  And wasn't very good at it when I did.  So I'm wondering if the upgrade will be something that can be accomplished with some screwdrivers and careful dis/reassembly, or something more involved?

The ASIC isn't on a board already.  The MPP is raw chips.  IF due to ROI% the MPP entitles you to 2 chips you will receive literally 2 chips. It will require manufacturing the rest of the system including the board the chip is mounted to.  It won't be done by you at home.  Either you will pay (an as of yet not announced) price for HF to build an ASIC board from your free chip or you will use a third party to build a board for you (like third parties build boards using Avalon, Bitfury and even BFL chips).  Another option would be to simply sell the chips.

I think this gets overlooked a lot.  Having an experienced mining software developer woking on product software before launch has not been usual way around here.  It's a very nice change and I'm looking forward to the results. +1 to hashfast for being proactive on this.

For my part, I have been pleased with what I've been involved in. That should not be taken as any kind of comment positive or negative about the hardware.

The final driver will be just part of a regular cgminer release so you can do whatever you want with it, so running it from any sort of PC or embedded device that can run cgminer would be fine. To run the stratum server as well as the mining software it'd probably need to be a real PC though, as the RPi isn't really up to that.

The unsurprising snarky response from DPoS aside, are you sure about this?  Seems to me as if a certain ambiguity is being maintained on this and some other issues.

My guess is that MPP will come as golden nonce chip modules. Not raw chips.
