Hope to see better numbers but it's kinda different comparing KnC hardware with HF and CT as KnC's 28nm chip with 4 cores only runs at 110-125 Gh so 4 chips are necessary to make a 550Gh unit so there is no room for expansion in the case at all, especially with the huge heat sinks that they used as well as the circuit board for each chip.  Even if they used water cooling it would be hard to imagine how they would cool just another two chips (having a total of 6 chips) and the boards attached to them and still fitting it in a 4u case.

just totally wrong..  no one cares about keeping them in their cases.  You can mount them on a block of wood

or a slab of stone

both of these run under 50c as is

Dear Community Liaison, as people kindly explained you, we don't know what to do with your 20% speed increase of a product that was priced for a delivery 2 months ago (aka, in a 5 times more friendly mining ecosystem).

Think about shipping the MPP as soon as possible and if you want to do something useful that you can actually do, ask them to answer my case, (#449), that with legit questions is still unanswered after a week.

Dear cedivad,

HashFast fully anticipates meeting the stated guaranteed delivery date of Dec 31.   Otherwise, refunds will be issued.

500GH is an increase of 25% (not "20%") over the initial 400GH spec.  And there may still be additional capacity yet to be unleashed!

HashFast already paid for Batch 1's MPP chips and they are being manufactured at TSMC, the world's most advanced wafer fabrication plant.

You may rest assured Batch 1 customers will receive their extra MPP miniboards as soon as possible.   Smiley

Am I the only one to find this HF bragging about speed increase insulting to intelligence? @HF_CL: It is totally irrelevant if chip hashes at 300, 500 or 700 GHs. It will mine >50% of it's lifetime returns in the first 2 months or less of it's total mining life. The position of these 2 months on the timescale determine the total value of the product, so the only important thing for all of us about your product is it's shipping date. Correction: other important thing is shipping speed, since it can also mess with a few days of mining. Hashing speed is totally irrelevant, since 25% increase is worthless because it is negatively compensated at least that much when difficulty increases >25% every 11 days. I know there's no way you don't understand these simple facts, so yours "Wov, 550GHs!" makes me really offended. Do you really think you are dealing with idiots?

Judging by their actions: yes.

My conclusion so far is that they studied the BFL case and figured they can screw customers without repercussions. There's one little thing they overlooked though. The mining community has become much more powerful over the last year, shifting the balance between customers and companies. Stealing $1,000 from a thousand customers is something entirely different than stealing $100,000 from a hundred.

Their deceptive marketing is gonna create a huge backlash. Judging by their actions I am not convinced that they are aware of that. There are ways for them to fix these issues, but so far they have not been forthcoming.

cedivad, about your signature: HF did bad things to their customers, no question, but they certainly didn't lay me (which is a pity when I see the picture of lovely Cara)

Though I don't know in detail what happened to you of course.

Can you believe that i went to this page before writing it and yet i got it wrong? http://web.ku.edu/~edit/lie.html
I guess that this time i will just use google translate. Thanks.

@Jutarul, while i understand and i agree completely with you (i'm just waiting for them to see when they ship the MPP to decide whenever or not i should pay the retainer), i think that while HF should be less talky talky and more shippy shippy, we customers should be less talky talky and more "sue" sue-tty them.

If we don't do that, well, why should they even bother? They got it completely right, the results they got from studying BFL was perfect.

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:

What i don't understand is the bragging while they only got 2 cores out of 4 to work. I know that it's easy to multiply by 2 the speed that you got with 2 cores and they may get that speed, but bragging without actually having a proof is just lame and sad.

this reminds me of my great leader (ken slaughter) delaying chips because he has discovered how to increase hash rate by 20% with software.. within a week, the 20% difficulty increase negates that advantage and so all you're left with is a lame excuse  Cheesy

I feel your pain.

I tried to reprogram the BFL cults, but I am not sure if I was successful. The head cult master still hurls wild eyed insults whenever he sees me.

You also have to remember that at the time HashFast was promising delivery in October and said they had multiple contingency plans in the event there was a delay in one part of the project. There was no "december 31st" date and there was no "mining protection plan". Just a 400+ GH/s miner promised in October at well under 1 W/GH/s
