A judge won't decide who's wrong or right in the case you outline, they will just issue a default judgement, which is what happened.

Ok, you are right. Yet to failed to show up, and you should have received some certified mail that notified you of what was gonna happen. Right? So how is it possible that you didn't show up by accident?

Maybe they sued the wrong BFL? Like HF that already has at least 3 different companies?

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:

Hey Josh,
Care to share how is it possible that someone sues you and you don't receive the proper paperwork to be there when a judge will decide if they are wrong or right?
When you register any type of company in the USA, you need to list a registered agent.   That person or lawyer is the person that official matters would be sent to.   You need to update this every year.   Many times people do not realize this or they did not create their business through a law firm and just think this does not matter.

I'm not sure how I can rephrase it so that it's more clear.  We were never notified that there was a case pending against us. The first we learned of it was through the forum. If we had been notified, you can be sure we would have shown up. But enough with derailing Hashfasts' thread, please continue the regularly scheduled posting here.  I just wanted to debunk the cut-and-paste Searing keeps posting, which is full of misinformation.

I'll post again next time he does it as well, but otherwise, I have nothing else I care to contribute to this thread at the moment.

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

many angry customers
several arbitration proceedings being filled (and several is not the plural of seven, no [what is the plural of a number anyway?])
a few lawsuits
a couple of happy cofounders and a marketing guy
another marketing guy that think to have finally a job that qualifies his qualities

and everyone else shitting bricks.

and not even an update in 15 days, while we were expecting 4.

(HashFast in a few lines)

What can we talk about next? TerraHashes?

Perhaps you might to give the forum some insight as to what you think might have gone wrong at Hashfast and how BFL would deal with a similar situation if it arose in the future?

The difference between HF and BFL is that someone (that was said to cover a high level position, but it was naturally denied) at BFL already spent some good time in jail so they made sure not to repeat the same mistakes again.

The guy was in prison in Italy, i wonder how is it possible that he negotiated a reduction of the sentence thanks to Italia.  Grin

(i'm not sure i remember this correctly, it has been over a year ago).

Following a quick review of the photo, my professional critique of the installation is as follows:

FAIL

1  Side vents are 50% obstructed by mounting brackets on open side.
Comment:  Rack, shelving modules should have been employed instead of mounting brackets.

Already discussed and picked apart.  Thanks for coming late to the party *golf clap*.

Quote

2  Side vent between units appears fully obstructed (Rack to Rack)
Comment:  Poor design, lack of knowledge and planning.

Look closer, there is an air-gap.

Quote
3  Bottom Unit in rack 1 is not readily accessible ~the unit above it must be removed to service the bottom one. (We don't put units on the bottom... (Dirt, physical damage, et cetera) start from top down.
Comment:  Poor design, lack of knowledge and planning.  Guess there is a first time for everything...

Yes it is.  Again, look closer, the lowest unit is raised.  You can tell by the shadow under the rear corner.

Quote
4  Rack density does not permit ventilation between units, again amateurish and problematic lending to sever thermal issues down the road that will undoubtedly require considerable configuration.  Problem will likely present when they continue to fill the racks if they follow the same installation format.

Guy, you need to get your eyes checked.  Only the first rack is secured.  The rest are floating.

Quote
For what its worth, this photo may be old ~except for the end rack units, the rest are not aligned or properly secured, looks like it may have been taken during the build itself.

Then what is the purpose of your "professional critique" of the installation?

You sound a lot like our old friend Bargraphics.

How do i know this for sure is a scam, beside working for HF?

If that's indeed the case then perhaps some disgruntled customers in the US might want to contact their local FBI office to express 'concerns' that money laundering is taking place, especially considering the large amount of Bitcoin payments that Hashfast received coupled with large offshore transfers? It's pretty much guaranteed to get attention.........much quicker than the courts.

Not necessarily, they are quite happy to take information from a wide variety of sources who are in many cases anonymous. Money Laundering is taken very seriously nowadays, if Hashfast are up to no good then it'll come out very quickly. Transfers to offshore accounts from US companies or individuals come under a lot more scrutiny now than a few years ago.

A genuine buyer who reported a 'concern', and the key word here is 'concern', not an accusation, that company funds had been transferred offshore will most certainly be taken seriously.

If you had just finished sending out a bunch of buy-out cheques to customers hoping that they would take the settlement but almost no one is falling for it, what would you do? You need to create fear of loss in people; that if they don't get out and cash those cheques right now there won't be anything left.
