That's the only problem, yes, time.
But when you see that they are gifting themselves away, should you really let them do it? Even if it's legal from their standpoints? (i asked my lawyer to look into that, fuck the costs).

Even if it were the case that there was some extreme chip excess and diverting the supply did nothing to delay your orders those chips showing up on the network is adverse to your interest— because it raises the difficulty ahead of you and reduces your income (for the products you haven't received yet as well as any miners you're already running).

Has anyone actually received any refunds for any batch higher than Batch 1?

The letter NinjaRobot received from Hashfast via the CA consumer protection people stated that they had "refunded" amounts totaling $30,000 USD.  That is like 5 orders tops.  They have hundreds of customers.

Now they [Hashfast] have no money left

What is this statement based on?

Some percentage of their income was BTC directly into their hands - which has quintupled, at least.

You guys do realize that "Garrett MacDonald" is Garr on these forums, right?  The guy who scammed tons of people out of money, lied about his shill bidding of auctions, etc...

In all the history of BTC, if not the history of mankind, or the universe, has there ever been a more authoritative source on the highlighted subjects?

This is clearly someone who knows something about which he speaks.

So I called our toddler friend Mr. MacDonald and he said he had coffee with Amy Woodward the day before....I wonder... here is a text conversation I had with him that might be of interest...he is most defiantly a scammer....he said his investing partner was flying into NYC the night we talked and I should call him...

the number was: (208) 659-2349 ( a google voice # )

Quote
Him: "6129369344 Jack Zwick, Cognitive Capital"

Me:          "Thanks I'll call him tomorrow"

Him:  "Great, no problem. If you could make a response to that email confirming I have good intentions that'd be nice too Tongue"

I then told him I would post a "report" about my meeting and he said:

Quote
Great Thanks. With our situation we can use all the positive PR we can get.

The number was of course bad and I texted
Quote
Thanks for giving me a bad number. Now I know.

He sent me a number with 2 digits revered which I never tried and then this, which was the topper...

Quote
Sorry, but I wouldn't give you any number before giving you a bad one, I'm not an idiot and I'm not going to assume you are either.

that was the last communication...

If you'd like more details on the conversation let me know, it was  about how Edward(o) likes him and gave him a good deal, then he said they had sent $2million in BTC in September for boards and never got them...and that Hash Fast was out of money.

Wait so let me get this right.

Hashfast is low on money even though they had "investors" and ripped off every customer they had via preorders.

Now they need help so they are turning to a 16 year old scammer to build them a production line so they can ship out the overpriced and obsolete hardware they promised nearly 5 months ago.

This has to be a joke. Now I understand why many don't take bitcoin seriously.
Hello, I have come back to check what happened to HashFast after I estimated they couldn't keep from running headlong into multiple deadlines from future batch commitments.

I have only read the last three pages, but the basic idea is that they didn't deliver batch 2+ and no MPP for batch 1, correct?

Amazing...
[Speculation]
So they are selling customers property to a third party while throwing their [literal] obligations to the side?

He's right, that is unreal.

Yes, they did ship out most of the BBJet (Batch #1) orders end of January 2014, making it 3 months late. They never shipped any RMA stuff for BBJets, no BBJet MPP, but more importantly, no Upgrade kits for the MPP people paid for November delivery, no Sierra's (Batch #2) and related MPP for the Sierra's. Basically they have not shipped anything in the last 7 weeks

But they did start to take pre-orders for a new piece of vapourware that will never ship on time or on specs, their new EVO 800-wait-750 GH/s board.

And they started selling off all their Golden Nonce chips to third parties like The Habanero Project - Third Party HF Mining Board

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=519943.0

Oh, and no refunds either. They are not even replying to email or phone.

It's basically a mix-up between BFL and Avalon, but one year later

Wow, what a company.

Take a lesson from this folks, they are not your best friend. Nor are they a good company to do business with in any virtual currency.

They clearly omitted promises they made to customers in exchanges that they would give 1:1 refunds in Bitcoins.

How Convenient.
