I just got e-mail pretending it is from blockchain.info related to claim BitcoinGold.I have account there but it is not connected with this e-mail in any way.You may notice how funy is their e-mail address :
Code:
blokchain.gold@gmail.com
So this is classic attempt of phishing in order to steal our login information or private keys.

Never click on suspicious links in your e-mail and always check do you enter data on the original site.

Can you screenshot or post here the message content with the email you received? If there is something that needs to fill up with any login information related to blockchain.info. Only Lazy people can't observe and will be hooked with this email especially with those new to bitcoin technology.

Anyway, the big question here why did you get those email from different source? I have a blockchain account but didn't receive any email with some phishing link on it related to blockchain and BitcoinGold. Maybe you use that email in any cloud mining site before, or in any site related to crypto and the database there was sold or hacked.

It seems you are the only one who have received this mail because I also use blockchain.info just like the poster above and I didn't receive any email of sorts. But its all good for awareness purpose it might benefit someone not to fall for this sort of cheap scam from scammers and also, you can try restrict the place you share your email especially as it relates to crypto currency. They could have gotten your email from the database of such sites which would then make it a target one.

I add screenshot in my post, but there is some problems with image posting(see more in Meta) so for now is not visible. This mail is from my site and it is public so I get many things like this. But someone is invested a great deal of effort in this,it is look very convincingly on first sight and for some inexperienced user represents a real trap.

Since the Bitcoin Gold (BTG) hard fork activated on November1st, we've continued to monitor this emerging digital asset and decided to roll out limited support for you!

We're excited to share that as of last week, any user who had a bitcoin balance in their Blockchain wallet when the fork activated will be able to access the same BTC amount in BTG. Keep in mind, bitcoin and BTG are two separate currencies with two different values. What you do with your BTG will not affect your bitcoin balance and vice versa - unless of course you're exchanging one for the other. ? You can store, exchange, and send Bitcoin Gold by clicking on General in the Settings menu of your web wallet. As always, if you choose to continue storing your BTG, you'll maintain full, exclusive access to these funds via your recovery phrase. ? Please note: if you did not have any bitcoin/BTG in your wallet at the time of fork then this option will not be available. ?

As of now I haven't received any such similar emails regarding on bitcoin gold related.Seeing on the email itself you would really able to tell the difference if you do have experienced eyes then for sure you would really notice that thing but if not then you would really fall into the trap. This is just a classic way on phishing out newbies out there which do hurry up on claiming their forked coins. So we should really be aware on these frauds and delete it directly once we do receive it.

From the look of the this phishing attempt these hackers are becoming lazy by the day, domain bearing the company name is a complete sale out that any person should hestite to even respond to such an attempt and I do not think the guys from Blockchain.info send out any emails to their customers, so this should have alarmed you.

Our automatic system detect suspicious attempt to login into your Blockchain wallet from an unknown device.
We froze account, until you complete our fast verification process.

I got similar one and also this new type of phishing email which automatically got into spam folder of my gmail.
I can easily detect this is another phishing attempt but many newbies might not understand this and give away their identifier + password to hacker.

It seems like that every single time a fork happens with bitcoin there is a flood of these scam phishing emails. No idea how the phishers got hold of the email of people using blockchain.info though, perhaps it's just sent out to people randomly that used another bitcoin related site.

Either way, always check the legitimacy of the sender. If it's @gmail.com don't even bother, since blockchain.info obviously has their email addresses hosted on their own domain name.

Also check official announcements, search them up on google and click on the links from the actual blockchain.info site.

If you lose money from these obvious phishing emails, you've got nobody to blame than yourself.

I received similar phishing attempt on my email as well 18 hours ago, it was sent from kdelk@www.cdatechnology.com.au The email is about verification process because it says that there was suspicious login attempt on my blockchain account. Luckily the email is received on my spam folder which means that I need to be very careful for everything come into my spam folder. One more thing that make it more suspicious is that this is not the email address I use to create my blockchain account.

These attempts will be very prominent and problematic in the coming months as people are already getting aware of the money that they could get out of our coins. I received a somewhat the same email but from a different web wallet telling me that I should click their link for my verification to push through. The thing that set my alarm off is that I didn't even apply for any verification process for that specific wallet. I immediately blocked that person and checked my wallet if everything is safe. Take good care of your wallets my comrades. Thieves are always lurking and just waiting for the right time to attack us and get our precious coins.

As for checking to my email, there's nothing arrived with the same image from the phisher.

I think your emails has been exposed somewhere and these people who are behind these fake emails from blockchain.info just recorded it to their own database/record.

If you can recall on where you have put your email there's maybe a connection on whom are the people behind these emails.

But if you are also vigilant and you usually read, URL's and email extension / domain you are aware that these emails are totally fake.
