Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I've counted 24 votes for XPM in this post XPM is just FOTM. Not relevant, it has no future as a currency, it's miner focused, not merchant focused. Look at the coins which are working on merchant support if you want to see what will be popular. |

There is no trade volume on NVC. But why do I get the feeling this poll will end with NVC/USD anyway? 4 choices of NVC pairs on the poll?! No new innovative coins announced. The poll in the Russian section only. Does btc-e want to go back to be an exchange for Russians only? Because you are right on track in achieving just that.
Stop this farce and open XPM and DGC trading and nmc/usd or look at the volume of traded coins at other exchanges. Also, a withdrawel fee of 100 Euros minimum for Sepa, which is actually free? Is this for millionaires only? Might as well close Euro trading altogether.
