Are they going to sell the A7 or also the A8 on the 26th?

So far from what I can tell the 26th is the last chance to buy the 741 from Blokforge. It's part of the last 741 units rolling out of Canaans production line.

I don't think orders can start for the 821 until Canaan releases the pricing for the units. Not sure when that will be, Canaan sent an email saying not to ask for pricing and that everyone will be updated at the same time.

Does anyone know what price Blokforge will be selling the last of the 741 miners for on the 26th? Their website currently has them listed as on sale from $1400 down to $1200. Is that price expected to stay the same? Fingers crossed. Especially after the beating BTC has taken over the last 48 hours.

Also, when will the units that are bought on the 26th be shipped?

They had sent out an email, they don't have an exact ship date yet. They haven't changed the pricing so it would be nice to get them for 1200. They do have an Avalon forum on their homepage you can ask them questions there, they seem to be pretty quick to respond

i called them yesterday and they are saying they dont have a price for their next batch of 741s yet.

A7 only, Caanan themselves have stated the A8 won't be in production by then.

Yeah I think they said the earliest they will be taking orders for the 821 is the end of January, if everything goes smoothly. Still no firm dates or pricing on the 8 series.

Initial 821 model is "officially" 11TH / 1200 watts

 They also announced an "841" model at 13TH / 1200 watts - but it appears that one won't show up 'till they've done at least one batch of the 821 models, and they haven't specified ANY sort of a timeframe on the 841 so it could be longer.

 They also announced an "861" power supply included model, again no timeframe and if it's like the 761 it's "China market only" intended.


 As to how they can manage higher hashrate at the same power - they probably have to use more chips running at less hash per chip but lower voltage so lower power and higher efficiency.
 Think Antminer T9 vs Antminer S9, same exact concept.

They also have a small forum where you can ask questions. They've been very responsive so far. It's great to see another distributor serving North America.

I think they are testing the design for A861 by manufacturing that one batch of A761's for China market only.

While the price is too high for 7.3TH/s, it looks like Canaan is controlling distributor pricing, which is a very good thing for us.

But yeah... I wasn't hoping for MORE competition trying to get a couple on the 26th, lol. So thanks...

I’m not so sure that the 741 miners from this batch will ever be able to pay for themselves. The difficulty factor is going to skyrocket in the next month or so when the 821 batch plus the new S9 batch plus the E9++ and E10 batches all ship at the end of January. When you look at the price of this 741 batch in that context, they do look pretty overpriced 😑

If you resell them on eBay, they will. Lol.

The 741 is definitely over-priced, but they will sell out of them because we have a lack of options and the big players aren't as affected by the increase in price (although they're not likely looking to purchase miners that are already beyond their end of life.

 BCC is some minor altcoin on it's own algorithm from a couple-three years ago.

Damn blokforge is starting to annoy me.  They just pushed the 741 / 821 order date a week, to January 2, same time.  I've been emailing with someone at blokforge, and they are limiting everyone to 2 miners of any model.  Now I got to wait ANOTHER week, DAMMITT!!!!!

I've done a cost / benefit analysis on the 821 and 841, and they are both far better than the 741 for power usage and hash rate.  I don't know why anyone would waste money on a 741 at this point.  And ebay prices are simply ridiculous.  Those commie bastards at Canaan jacked the price to insane levels.  I'll keep trading bitcoin on the highs and lows, add my tax refund, and buy a bunch of 841s in a few months.

Current pricing for the 821 is $1850, Canaan has it commented out in the HTML source code on that page of their site so it does not show yet.  Looks like they are trying to squeeze every penny out of the 741s.
