Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Wondering something similar: are you looking for interns? (I'm currently not based in the US)

Sorry, guys.  We'd like to get someone who will be available 40+ hours/week consistently for the next few years, at least.  Also, I'd prefer the person to have at least 10 years of practical (non-academic) experience.

This is not related to your post, but I thought I would opportunistically voice my frustration... what's your compliance strategy? I just can't get excited about new bitcoin exchanges over any amount of technical features or business models... I want to see an all-star legal team, well-connected and powerful investors who support your cause, letters from banks who say they will stay on your side, etc.

Feel free to ignore this post. Also, thanks for creating a new exchange (even if I didn't sound too grateful), we need people like you.

We've got all that very much covered and I'd be happy to share more in detail with qualified candidates.  Our general strategy is to do everything by the book and be fully compliant everywhere we operate.  For what we've shared publicly, a lot is available at: https://beta.kraken.com/about/press

cringed a little when I read "seeks rockstar to lead front end development".

related HN discussion:

also sorry for being frank but the rest of your job ad is extremely boilerplate.

but I love Kraken and can't wait till you launch! From what I've seen, this is going to be my go to exchange (depending on ease of EU wire transfer and general funding options even replace Bitstamp/Bitfinex)

i did alot of ajax dojo jquery aswell as backend server integration i have 10 yrs experience and 7 yrs in forex market and equities. I may be interested as im working as a software engineer fulltime for a growing company. Most my work last 5 yrs hAs been javascript with server side integration thru ajax(rest).

I used Dojo recently instead of jquery but i can use any lib.

I set up my companies continois integration process by creating a build server and tying it into bug issue tracking aswell as sourcr code management thru software suite from atlassian(Jira).

Im a fan of the agile methology. Sorry for bad grammer im typing on an iphone let me know some more details and how flexible you are since i cant give up my job here (yet).

I like Kraken a lot. Their legal counsel is super awesome, and they are a fun loving bunch. I had a great time hanging out with them in San Jose, and am really excited about what they are doing!
