I heard about a guy in Moscow, who jumped out of the window, because he lost all his money in crypto investments and trading. So, do we have a new free heroin here? Is it possible to get addicted to crypto?

I think it's not crypto trading that is addictive, but the act of making money / gambling.

it depends on people, how long can spend their time in trading. the more time you have, the more addiction you can get and it's the same a as gambling. the more profit you get, the more chances of high risk you make.

Definitely not addiction, we are just trying to make a living out if crypto currencies. Maybe what happened to the misfortunate guy who jumped outof the building is lack of hope and could not accept failure. It is just normal to lose sometime in crypto, it is inevitable. Even people who are doing it in a long time do fails.

it is sad to hear the news but I think cryptocurrency could make us become addicting because we've always watched and checked the price and if the price is down too fast, sometimes it makes us become crazy and want to sell with fast. but if we can control our emotion then it won't be a problem to us and we still could trade or do whatever we want in cryptocurrency. I hope we don't have to lose our mind when we are losing our money and still trying to recover.

Yes it can be addicting but also very rewarding.  Many stock traders have moved onto cryptocurrency trading due to the high return on investments.

It depends on how you treat it I think, if you make logical trades and try to maximize profit then you can go very far. But once you go all in I think you have past that stage and are treating it more like gambling.

The Russian guy from Moscow must have borrowed a large sum of money from the mob and lost all on trading crypto and then committed suicide because I don't see any valid reason for one to kill himself.

Meanwhile, I don't see crypto trading as an addiction.

People are commiting suicides also after they loose their money on forex or on the stock market. There was a big amount of suicides after the dotcom bubble or at the 2008 crisis. Imho the main reason for that is that people are trying to gamble without having any experience on the overpriced markets and they usually end up in big debts. Nothing special about crypto.

When you have large sums of crypto coins in your wallet, it grows into a dependency. But there is dependence on conventional conventional money. I'm here to profit from investment, not for a crazy race. There are simply mentally unbalanced investors and traders.

I think it is, but this is the reason why it is important to control ones emotion when trading. Also the addiction is similar to the desire to be rich in this case so I see no problem with here it's just that the guy (bless his soul), probably does not have it in him to move on and accept the losses..

I think making money and trading can be addictive as it can give you a self entitlement i.e. "Look I have made over 300% profit in a year" but I don't think cryptocurrencies are addictive.

Although they are a lot more volatile than lets say the normal stock markets, so cold cause people to lose it from one day to another.

I don't think addiction, but depends on the person.

more than likely (sadly) the Russian guy put a lot of his money (maybe too much) into alt coins.

The lesson here is only trade what you can afford to lose. Don't put all of your money in trading crypto because the crypto trading market is unpredictable.

yes its totally possible, crypto activities like investment or even a trade makes you more rich in the future, in a way you really know how crypto really works. so the addiction in this crypto will show after you earn more than your job monthly salary, thinking to earn more than you expected is more interesting things to make possible in crypto. so many investors/people are getting addicted in this crypto just to earn money in a easiest ways, but to put all your money in just one coins is very risky for you.

I have tried trading and boy did it give me some sort of exhilaration when I see my coins going up. But it also gave me depression when they go down. Newbies mistake. Emotions should be left out of the equation with day trading as it makes you make big mistakes. But that point when you sold and profited from it is really very addictive.
