Since there is still mining nodes on version 1.0 even... anyway to block them or just rule them out over time I guess?

You can increase protocol version and then ban blocks download from the old nodes.

Thanks to Palmdetroit and Balthazar for fixing a bug in the 1.2 code. I tested Palmdetroit's new client, my wallet seems sync fine without any issues. This looks like a good client to me, so I updated the windows download link below and also the source link. I will fix the official source later when I am back from the travel. Everyone please use the new client and source and let's create no more confusions on this coin.
