Just curious what you guys have to think.

Do you see anyone putting out any new USB Asic miners? I would love to grab something that doesn't lose me money, even if I don't really profit. But people are trying to sell their USB miners for $50 each. It's ridiculous right now with the mining mania we're seeing.

Thanks!

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

the mainlander for script mining like ltc   have a state of the art chip.

it is the only sick that can  turn a profit at the moment

the best sha-256 is sidehacks 2pac and it can not realistically turn a profit.

I have both sticks.

2 moonlander 2's   these do 10 mh on medium clocks

1 two pac
3 compac

the sidekick sticks do 40gh on easy clocks

the 40 gh  earns 0.000161 btc a month or 2.68 usd  not counting power

the 2 moonlander 2's earn 0.04418 ltc or 0.000851 btc or 14.27 usd per month not counting power

2 moonlanders on a preorder = 135 usd at asicpuppy.com

2 two-pacs cost . maybe less like 100 or even less

I appreciate your insight. I am like 95% certain that I will be ordering a moonlander or two. Great video you linked. I liked your taking the fans off. Are they really that bad?

Do you see the 2pacs getting a facelift? Or do you think the trend going further into the TH/s means that we've seen the last USBs for Bitcoin?

the two pacs are good  but sidekick is using s-5 chips

so they  are out of date.

he can not get what he needs to do a modern stick

the mainlanders have a modern chip they will be competitive for a while.

I point my sidekick sticks at a pool that pays a reward for hitting a block
and it also pays some coin  for mining.

There are chips that might had been profitable on a USB but I don't think that companies with big miners in production would actually bother scaling their products output DOWN to make USB units. Those could be good for toying around, perhaps mining for fun or small coins but never better for profitability. Let alone that the setup is also pretty tedious.

Have you come across a Litecoin pool that works similarly? It would be fun to take that "gamble" with them.

Moonlander 2 is the only USB-based miner currently available using a current-generation chip.
With the recent runup on Litecoin pricing, it's looking like it has a real chance to achieve ROI sometime next year.

Sidehack so far is selling sticks and pods based on older-generation Bitmain chips, he's not gotten a pod or stick working with Bitfury current-gen chips yet.

I'm only buying mining equipment with gains in value from my crypto holdings. I ended up preordering 13 of the Mainlanders   Smiley

Didn't think I would buy that many, but I'm excited to support the creator. Hope he follows through on some thoughts he's had of using multiple chips to create a pod-type miner. I'm kind of hoping it stays along the same lines as using USB connections so I don't have to keep buying Ethernet splitters.
