The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Nuova versione di quest'ottimo wallet per android Smiley
I'm proud to announce version 2.41 of Bitcoin Wallet.

The changes are mostly under the hood, but some of them are massive:

  • Seriously reduced bandwidth and CPU usage due to usage of bloom filters on peer connections
  • Faster connection setup to peers
  • Ability to spend your own change instantly, without waiting for confirmation
  • No need to manually disconnect any more for any of the preferences
  • Preference for showing the connectivity indicator
  • Shortcut to request coins by long tapping on QR code
  • Enhanced Peer monitor to show more info about peers, e.g. hostname
  • Fallback for fetching exchange rates (bitcoincharts first, then blockchain)
  • Lots of small improvements and bugfixes
  • Based on bitcoinj 0.7

The bloom filter feature depends on seeing at least one bitcoin-qt/bitcoind 0.8.0 (protocol version 70000+) to download blocks from. As of today, the chance for this is roughly 50% and will increase as the new version spreads. If you want to help, update your bitcoin-qt now.

Download/update from Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet

Direct download:
https://code.google.com/p/bitcoin-wallet/downloads/list

Source:
https://code.google.com/p/bitcoin-wallet/source/checkout

Thanks to everyone who contributed to Bitcoin Wallet and bitcoinj. Mike Hearn and Matt Corallo earn extra hugs for making bloom filters a reality!

E' un webclient/eWallet, simile a Instawallet.
Non lo conoscevo, vedi se riesci a trovare un po di feedback per vedere se è affidabile.

Nuova versione del client Electrum, sempre più maturo Smiley
Electrum 1.7 Released

After a few months of hard work we are proud to announce Electrum 1.7. A lot has changed both the inside and outside of the application. Let me run through the list.

Plugin support
The classic gui can now be extended with plugins. Developers who want to add new features to Electrum or let Electrum interface to third-party services are now welcome to do so. Some core functionality in 1.6 and lower has now been refactored into a plugin.

Electrum ships with the following plugins by default.

  • Alias - Retrieve aliases using http.
  • Label sync - Syncs your labels between Electrum installs/instances.
  • Point of Sale - Adds a window with QR Code and more payment information.
  • QR Scanner - As the name implies
  • Virtual Keyboard - Adds a virtual keyboard to the password dialog.

Interactive console
The wall has been turned into a virtual console. The provided python environment gives users access to the wallet and gui. Most
electrum commands are available as python function in the console. Custom scripts an be loaded with a "run(filename)"
command. Tab-completions are available.

Offline wallets
Offline wallets now work in a way similar to Armory:

1. User creates an unsigned transaction using the online (watching-only) wallet.
2. Unsigned transaction is copied to the offline computer, and signed by the offline wallet.
3. Signed transaction is copied to the online computer, broadcasted by the online client.
4. All these steps can be done via the command line interface or the classic GUI. ("Load transaction" from "Import/Export" tabs in settings)

Private key exports
Private keys can be exported from within the classic GUI. For a single address, use the address menu (right-click). To export the keys of your entire wallet, use the settings dialog (import/export tab). It will dump your private keys to a csv file.

Multi-sig transactions
It is possible to create, sign and redeem multisig transaction using the command line interface. This is made possible by the following new commands: dumpprivkey, listunspent, createmultisig, createrawtransaction, decoderawtransaction, signrawtransaction. The syntax of these commands is similar to their bitcoind counterpart. For an example, see Gavin's tutorial: https://gist.github.com/gavinandresen/3966071

Wallet location for Windows changed
The location of the Electrum folder in Windows changed from LOCALAPPDATA to APPDATA. Discussion on this topic can be found here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=144575.0. This process should be automatically done for you but if a wallet is found in both folders it might ask you to resolve it yourself.

Address generation
The wallet waits for 2 confirmations before creating new addresses. This makes recovery from seed more robust. Note that it
might create unwanted gaps if you use Electrum 1.7 together with older versions of Electrum.

Various changes
Because of the internal changes there are currently problems creating the "single .exe build" of Electrum. Only the installation option is available. The good news is that command line options for this version are working and the style for the Lite GUI is packaged again.

Also if somebody could let me know if the "upgrade notification" in 1.6.2 was working that would be great Smiley

Downloads available on the Electrum site

I'm proud to announce version 3.0 of Bitcoin Wallet.

The changes are massive:

  • Now requires Gingerbread (Android 2.3.3) or later.
  • Export/import encrypted private key backups to/from mail or online storage.
  • Switch to new block store format, uses seriously less internal storage and doesn't grow.
  • New installs are instantly fully updated and useable.
  • Got rid of block chain snapshot in APK, installs updates much faster.
  • Lots of small improvements and bugfixes.
  • Based on bitcoinj 0.8.

If you want to take advantage of the new block store format, you need to reset your blockchain once (Options > Settings > Reset Blockchain).

Download/update from Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet
(update will become available during the next hours)

Direct download:
https://code.google.com/p/bitcoin-wallet/downloads/list

Source:
https://code.google.com/p/bitcoin-wallet/source/checkout

Thanks to everyone who contributed to Bitcoin Wallet and bitcoinj. Mike Hearn again invested lots of work to make mobile wallets work just as snappy as online wallets, but without the disadvantages of online wallets.

Nuova versione, più leggera e più veloce! Cheesy

I've built a Bitcoin web-wallet for feature phones. It works much like Instawallet did, but uses a login and password.
I originally built it for African phones, so I've ensured compatibility with the five most popular models used there.
Everything validates to XHTML Basic 1.1, so it can run pretty much anywhere you can access the web.
Here it is running on my feature phone:
Dovrebbe andare bene con i telefoni più diffusi in Africa Smiley

E' stato aggiornato il client Android di blockchain.info
Ora è presente anche un PIN per accedere al wallet Wink

Sempre su blockchain.info, è ora possibile impostare di bloccare l'accesso da exitnode Tor al proprio account.

New Version of Android App

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=piuk.blockchain.android&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd

  • PIN Protection
  • Improved Fee Handling - The Fee policy set in the web interface will now be honoured in the android app
  • Second Password will be cleared after a transaction is sent
  • Fix Pairing Issues

How PIN protection works

1) When the PIN is created a unique secret is generated and stored on the server.
2) The users password is then encrypted with the new secret and saved on the device.
3) When restoring the wallet if the correct PIN is provided the server responds with the secret allowing the device to decrypt the password.
4) If the PIN is entered incorrectly 4 times the key is removed from the server and the main password will need to be re-entered.

Prevents malicious app on rooted devices from reading the password directly from app data however more sophisticated malware that reads the app memory or keyloggers will still be possible.

P2P Fallback mode in the android app

The android app now includes to ability to switch between using blockchain.info's servers to retrieve information about transactions and the bitcoin p2p network itself. When P2P mode is enabled the app will switch to using bitcoinj as an SPV client and once it has synced the block headers you can send and receive transactions even is blockchain.info is offline. It can also be used to verify your wallet balance independently of blockchain.

- In P2P mode you cannot generate new addresses (since the wallet can't be saved on the remote server)
- Watch only addresses will not work
- If the app cannot connect to the PIN server the password will need to be re-entered every time the app launches.

Ora il client di blockchain può funzionare ancora anche se i server/servizio va offline.
Suppongo e spero che presto verrà aggiunta questa funzionalità anche per l'app di Chrome Wink

Novita' importanti riguardo a blockchain.info
Quote
- All forwarding transactions will now include fees covered by blockchain.
- There is now a minimum transaction size of 0.001 BTC. Payments will pool in the receiving address until that threshold is reached.
- Notifications should be faster.
- Improvements to shared send mixing.
