If it's the coin which did not start only a few days before and it's Ethereum/Ripple/TRON/NEO/EOS or something else in Top 20 on CMC, it should be certain you will get profit in the next few months, so it's not a bad strategy at all.

It is quite risky going all in on one altcoin, it can be worth it if you make the right decision in your selection. I progressing to diversify my assets, so the (potential) profits could cover for the (possible) losses in another.
Investing all the money into an altcoin is extremely risky because in this market anything can happen and after one night all the money you have will disappear if you invest in bad coins. Use the division of funds into two to three types of coins including Bitcoin to secure your property because it is quite safe and effective.

Never put all your eggs in one basket. It's risky. Better split your investment in several altcoins. For example buy bitcoin, ethereum and after some altcoins what you want

You are right, this is the wise move, but they never listen. They find a coin read some srticle that says this is the new Bitcoin, out all the money in something that is $0.01 and expect to see it $1000 in a year. After 6 months the thing just died and everybody is wondering how did this happen and where are my money? Diversifying reduce the profit, but protect the whole investment.

Hi, the altocoin market is so variuous and there are dozen of interesting projects that can be supported.
But i'm a little investor (500$) and i'm seriously thinking to put all my money in only 1 project I think is very good which curretly is in the top 40 of altcoins. I don't want to say the name because my topic wants to be very general: what do you think is the risk by doing so? Should I invest in 2 or 3 coins instead?
Thanks
In my opinion it is so risk to go all in . If I have a $500 only I will invest in 2 altcoins and probably also in top 40 so in that way even the other is down the other may be up or much better both .

I do not think that . The fact that you invest in a coin will make it easy to track down the coin level. When you watch the movement of this coin will give you a better view when investing.

I find that you have risky you have to spend all your money on a coin, you will be addicted to the coin, you should invest more diversified to reduce the risk for you. All your money in 1 altcoin - Too risky

thats the advantages if we only invest in 1 altcoins my friend but, the risk is much higher, thats the real fact I wouldn't call it an advantage - it's just a laziness. If it's to difficult for you to track your portfolio, then don't invest in ctypto at all. Is it an advantage of being a nocoiner? No, it's not an advantage at all! Just imagine if Warren Buffet was to lazy to track the prices of all the assets he invests in...

its very risky when you invest only in one coin, why is it? because you dont know when will that altcoin pump and it has a possibilty to dump and the worst is you cant even earn a daily profit. But if that altcoin is good for long term then its good but still the risks is still there. The best thing to do is to split up your money and buy some altcoins instead of focusing on one altcoin.

Yes all in one alt seems crazy risky. I have my current Bitcoin in 5 alts and its a complete disaster. I would highly advise against a move like this no matter how good of an idea it seems like.

its never a good idea to put all eggs in one basket. You should consider investing in many different coins, diversification is almost always a good thing. fyi, BTC is the OG and a very reliable coin, it maybe fluctuating at times but will surely bounce back and stable itself.

thats the advantages if we only invest in 1 altcoins my friend but, the risk is much higher, thats the real fact I agree with the high risk, high return philosophy. However, it gets to the point where its like gambling, a desperate bet where the odd is too low, lose it and you lose it all.

It's too dangerous. In the investment should not put eggs into a basket. If you do not want to lose all your money. save 50% of the capital to buy BTC and ETH. The remaining 50% you can share equally for the altcoin that you love.

the point is do not invest in one coin only, because this is the riskiest investments strategy but try to invest in few coins,, better less than 10, so you can easily control it

Yes it is too risky, no matter how good the altcoins is, it is better to spread your money across two or more, at least that is what the experts do, they create a portfolio of altcoins
