thanks for pointing it out tho i wouldnt mine with 6600's unless i found a lorry full in a field lol. As for Linux it can be challenge but very rewaring to break free of MS tho sometimes it can make one want to smash things up in a rage if its not bad enough learning new HW then throw in an unfamaliar distribution i been on Ubuntu till now having moved to Manjaro to get these 6800s singing without windows such is the passion for that here.

Have you tried changing the F-state on linux using a script?  You can get a stable 62.5 MHs on average for each card.

Thanks for the reply i will take a look at the link currently hoovering up info as want to solve the stale share problem which im sure is caused by being stuck on kernel 0 for now.

Actually had a breakthrough late last night just before bed it was a "what if a try this" whilst my inner voice was "dont mess about when your this tired just go to bed man" moment, but after a fk it, it turns out two of the 6800's dont like mclock @ 1075 and drop down to 10Mhs with it. I suspect it it could be throttling as when i drop mclock down to 1050 on those two cards they come back to 63Mhs but with hotter mem temps than the others so the following is how i went to bed and woke with the rig still purring away nice n stable at around 380Mhs. :-)

Now the above is all running under Manajaro which is a new experience for me with subtle differences to Ubuntu like no @reboot under crontab lol.


I have a test rig running Ubuntu 20.04.3 with AMDGPU driver 21.20 working nice for one GPU but no more and with no stales as able to use optimized kernels. I would like it very much if PM could release next version to solve the multiGPU issue with latest rocr driver which according to link below is related to rocr driver having PCIE 3.0 atomics limitation and i suppose a skeptic might scowl at AMD for messing with miners in that way unlike Nvidia and there LHR darkness. I haven yet been able to get ubuntu working with multigpu but even if possible its obvious i will be back to driver 20.40 stuck on kernel 0 same as Manjaro... On a side note i did try driver 21.30 just for a test, it crashes after building DAG for single GPU.

You should be able to get the CVDDC down in the 650 range.  I'm running my 3x 6800's in HiveOS clock 1325, mclock 1075 vddc 612, 681,643.  This results in 102W,120W,102W.  All my cards are Powercolor.  The 102W are Red Dragons the 120w is a Fighter.  When I ran them in Windows 10, I was getting getting similar power settings after tweaking the powerplay tables with MorePowerTool.  I switched to HiveOS because it was easier to try out different ETH miners.  Pretty much click and go for that.

So far have resisted any sort of specialist mining operating system but this may warrant an exploration of HiveOs given PM is slowly growing obsolete at present although i dont like the registration bit for it. Need to find out who owns Hiveos and therfore who is benefiting from such data harvesting.

At present i see GPU makers are doing things to inhibit mining with new GPU's such as LHR for Nvidia and the change to ROCR for AMD making it hard to get more than one GPU working with the latest drivers for optimized kernels. I wonder what Intel have planned when they arrive or will it unleash true competition for miners as well.....

I agree. Its like being late for something and whilst driving there at speed they keep calling on the phone to find out where you are. Stop calling im on the way ffs and dont want to have to pull over to tell you what you already know!!

Okay guys, please, cut the sparks. Everyone here has different goals and different strategies on how to meet their goals. I personally still need some more GPU's to retire my last few 4G cards, but I'm off the market because I do not agree to pay at the retail stores about double the price, compared to the reference price for the cards they selling now. Even a few months ago, I managed to buy 2 new RX 6700 XT cards from eBay at a lower price than what they are selling them now in the retail stores. Also more worst is the situation with the LHR cards. They are not available in the retail stores, but the displayed price is double compared to the founder's edition, and the LHR lock makes them less power efficient even with 70% unlock.
But this is just me. However there are still people who pay these prices, even they know may never make an ROI.
I would never advise someone to do or not to do something unless I had been asked.

Essentially people like us who missed earlier waves.

I think the RX5700's bought used are a good price/power/hash card these days.  I only changed mine to 6800 for the power savings.  I sniped them on ebay auctions at the last second using gixen.com

Dont you think getting a warranty is worth the little extra although many retailers are now sold out sadly...

Hi! Sorry for the off topic but I'm out of ideas! At least I'm using phoenix miner!

So, I bought 2x Tplink p100 smart plugs and have set 2x asrock motherboards  1. b450 steel legend, R5 3600 with 1x 1kw PSU, 2. x470 Master Sli R5 1600, 2x PSUs 1kw connected together. So both motherboards set to restore power after power loss, the first mobo starts as it should after switching the smart plug on, BUT the second x470 mobo only starts spinning bot PSUs fans... but nothing starts...no RBGs, no fans running, not even cpu fan, ONLY the 2 PSU fans are running. It only starts working properly after turning the rig on from the classic power button.

Anyone has any suggestion what the problem could be? Once again Im really sorry for the off topic and thanks in advance!

Have you tried swapping the units at the smart plugs? 
If it follows the rig start there….if it stays at the plug replace it.
Then do the same for the psu’s and motherboards until you isolate what is causing the behavior.

Thanks for the reply! I found out someone had same problem with Asrock x470 motherboard and resolved it by updating the bios. So I gave it a try and updated from bios version 3.50 to 3.70 and this solved my problem!

Now the rig starts when power comes back, but the only problems is that windows shows that message before it enters into windows that the system didn't start up correctly and I should choose restart or actions to restore windows.
Its a bit of a bummer again because you cant log on with teamviewer and cant firgure out why the rig isn't booting...

I agree with Rickirs,unless you specifically implement the LHR mode like many of the other miners are doing you are going to lose clients from the Nvidia side,personally I am happy from quite a lot of time with your miner as I mainly have AMD cards but it is a shame that you have not implemented some kind of LHR tune yet,hopefully this will be fixed in the upcoming releases.

You can wait until it is official release then 1st post update….but only ever trust beta posted by Phoenixminer himself…not other idiot users who are posting malware.

Its not hard to avoid scam…READ the post and who posted it.  Only ever D/L from posts by Phoenixminer for Phoenix Miner.

And hit the report to moderator any time you see a in this thread with D/L links from any other user in this thread.

Yes I know, but that's not a good solution.
Because you have to check and determine every single spam/scam reply if its legit reply or not.
While if all legit sources are placed on the 1st post, no need to be checked for anything.

No thanks, no time to loose to monitor the forums for those things.
The spammers are constantly and regularly are flooding the topics with those.
(It's not something to be done once and gone)

I don't like some of zertor's arguments either, but his idea to have booth official and the beta releases in the first post, will make this thread more organized and safer. For example, people, looking for the miner and never read this thread can found what they need in the first place.
