According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Looks nice, could be used to break race conditions (double spending) by tracking outgoing coins in the DHT, but we'd have to trust the responsible nodes. Should the node be cheating it can invalidate entire transaction chains.

Still a project to keep in mind, as alternative double spending prevention.
