Hello guys. I have 2 zotac 1080ti amp extremes currently switching between luxcoin and verge mining and so far im satisfied.

My rig can still handle either another 1080ti (which isnt available anymore in my area) or 2x gtx 1060 or 2x rx 570 which both are available.

zotac 1060 3gb mini costs around 250$ and  msi rx 570 gaming x for 280$

AMD has been king for mining but right now according to calculators for altcoins nvidia looks more profitable and with even less power consumption.

I rate highly fans with lower noise since the rig is very close to where I hangout so on that basis please advise  Cheesy

Thanks.
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Don't go for "mini" 1060 3gb, they generating lot more noise than two fan versions. However to keep better compatibility I would recommend gtx 1060 normal size.
If u mix ati/nvidia then u can have some unexpected problems with overclocking, miners etc.

i have both,

nvidia has many alghoritms that you can use and thi smeans more algho more long term card for mining!

amd rx 570 is good for some algho less for others..

example

rx 570 4gb i have does 880h on cryptonight and 28mh ethereum+50mh lbc
1060 is 24.5 mh eth and no good dual mining. 1060 500 h cryptonight
i prefer nvidia for the possibility to use with many coins. will allow you more future for the card.

its better to go with 1060 6gb dual fan version
mixing amd and nvidia gpus always create problems and stability issues
so going with 1060 should be the right choice

Better to go with Rx 570 or Rx 580 (8 GB Graphics Card)

Amd is a lot harder to setup then Nvidia , I wouldn't recommend Amd to any newbie because of the custom straps / Bios to gain extra performance.
While Nvidia is a lot easier , Just plug and play for good performance , Tweak the clocks and TDP for better performance and Efficency (Not that much difference in performance but lot less power consumption )
and Overclocking and changing TDP is just as easy as installing msi after burner and playing with the sliders .
I myself have had several problems with my Amd setups while my Nvidia 1080 ti rig is running rock solid Smiley

RX 570 vs 1060 3GB

RX 570 IS THE WINNER!!

Rx 570 have very highest hashrate ( if you mod bios ) but RX 570 is Electricity killer, you can reduce power consumption by lowered voltage

RX 570
Pros:
-Tuners paradise - Adjustable bios, memory timings, voltage, wattage
-Excels at dual mining
-Memory type doesn't affect performance as much

Cons:
-Moderate stability -can be finicky at times (poor amd driver support)
-Limited on algos it excels at
-High power consumption
-Availability
-Last gen, polaris (lower resale value?)

GTX 1060
Pros:
-Ease of use (Minimal initial setup; good for ppl who like set it and forget it type rigs and have a life  Wink)
-latest gen Pascal (no new card on the market) therefore better resale perhaps?
-high stability (drivers are stable and usually an improvement over previous versions)
-Readily available inventory (more sales, better pricing/price matching opportunity)
-Decent perf. at several algos

Cons:
-Memory type lottery (Samsung best, micron okay, hynix bust)
-Lower performance on some algos
-Closed system - Not much tweaking allowed (bios, voltage, memory timings all locked)

Thank you for all your input guys. I started mining relatively recently but I have made mining rigs for other people before and im familiar with tuning AMD cards and their bios etc( had to stop a r9 290 constantly crashing in windows 10 XD).

It will surely be challenging to make the system stable with both nvidia and amd working together but I think I will go with the rx 570. Mostly because as golempl pointed out the 1060 mini version is loud. And the only other available 1060 is the zotac 6gb AMP which is priced at a whopping 350$

From what I gathered with the new AMD miner RX 570 can do 35mh+ each for Lyra2v2 which is a better ratio than the 900$ priced 1080ti that does 66mh.

So looks not bad to mine some ore with them while I do X17 or PHI with the TI's Smiley

PS: I also have a big feeling that the recently available 1060's are all hynix memory
