I dont think this will end any time soon, its just the beginning, if people can use a stock as a method of payment all companies will apply for an ICO rather than an IPO

I think 2018 will be the year of the ICO regulations. I think we receive clarity on what the SEC,FinCEN,IRS and the CFTC look at crypto as and a framework will be given to help. I don't think it will be the end of the ico I just think it will be the end of blatantly fake utility tokens. One of the nuances of the law that is being muted is that you can be classed as a utility as long as you have a network/community before the ico. Which will weed out a good deal of the dodgy campaigns.

It will not die in 2018 given the reputation they have built over 2017. Because of their popularity it will be hard just to put them out of service. And the cryptocurrency craze is just beginning and it will grow even more because of the people who supports it and the ones who helped by icos.

We are in 2018 and ICO doesn't look like dyeing rather it keeps getting stronger with upcoming new project queuing up.
I think ICO is here to stay.

ICO in addition to selling products and looking for investors also serves as a brand identity, we all know that many companies that run ICO programs are newly established companies and large corporations.
ICO is helpful for new companies standing for corporate branding, why?
With the G20 issue, the United States declared disagreeing with Bitcoin, coin alternatives, and ICO programs, it all made the entrepreneurs take a gap in that for their corporate branding.
So I think ICO will never end.

ICO is a powerful and much better way to raise cash than IPO's which are riddled with too much bureaucracy and barriers to entry.
Similar story with other conventional ways of seed funding, always some politics playing out, ICO cuts through all the cronyism bullshit and pretentious posturing, among many other benefits.
ICO's are here to stay ladies and gentlemen.

ICO will always stay because big investors believe that investing on ICO is worthy and the possibility to earn huge profit is expected. I don't believe that ICO in 2018 will die as long as the market will not be manipulated.

i got your point dude, but if this is your basis why is it that the creating a normal company still exist. There also big distrust among them, there also big scams to look for. The Idea behind is to make this industry regulated, consolidate all the relevant things in order to make ICO more legitimate than before. The moves of big countries regarding cryptocurrencies states the idea of mine, you don't need to extinct it, find the problems and fix it. Because that's the nature of us humans.
