Bitcoin with it's high fees and slow transaction times is hardly suitable for payments – spending the same fee whether you buy a coffee or send $100,000 is a joke and the promise of scaling solutions such as the Lightning Network hasn’t been fulfilled.[1]
While there's no shortage of old and new believers to keep the party going, along with plenty of developers working to create better, forked versions of bitcoin, I’m betting my chips on a more flexible alternative.
The door is wide open for blockchains that use smart contracts, like ethereum,[2] bitcoincash, litecoin and more...... 2018 Will Be ....... Year’s? [Writer choose ethereum, what will be your choice?and why?]

2018 will be the year of Bitcoin AND Litecoin.  Undoubtedly both of them will do insanely well when LN comes around. |

I don't know, what writers choose about the growth of coin in coming year but I believe bitcoin will rise more as its demand and popularity increases among people. Many people suspect that bitcoin has raised to its full potential but I think there is more to this coin then we have speculated, more and more people are getting to know about it and are using bitcoin as a mode of payment rather than just as investment. If we are able to solve the issue of high transaction fees we could easily see Bitcoin as one of the admired currency worldwide.

I think bitcoin still dominates the market, but for other coins like etherium, litecoin and more will also increase
In 2017 bitcoin is trending, so this year for me bitcoin is so high and indemand to used. Because some of us now using bitcoin for their daily life. |

2017 was a great year for bitcoin. Even tho the famous China ban, bitcoin got over it and reached an unexpected price. We all remember the panic we had when the price went down to 2000$. That's in the past now. I think in this new year, bitcoin will definitely hit 20k. I hope bitcoin will have a better year than 2017.

2018 will still be bitcoin's year as I can not see any coin that will come and surpass it . Yes ripple is gaining ground but can not caught up to bitcoin the king of crypto currencies.

Year of Ethereum because they will continue to be the leader for ICOs and token creation and they may have switched to POS by the time year is up, interesting times ahead for ETH.

If there is going to be any suppression of bitcoin by any altcoin, it won't happen this 2018 defineatly. The reason it won't happen this year is simply that change is hard to accept and thus, always resisted. Even where it would happen subsequently in the future, it won't be a forked coin from bitcoin . Rather, a bitcoin not forked from bitcoin like Bitcoin White .

I think by 2018 bitcoin will still win, because there are still many people who are new to bitcoin and want to invest, but by 2018 more coins will have higher prices like ethereum, litecoins and more.

because it lower its price,
and it will be great if Try to hold it for a long term.

Now bitcoin price is going down but I can say that 2018 will still bitcoin year. Bitcoin is the best crypto currency in the world and its price should increase in future. For bitcoin anything can happen and $100,000 is not possible yet I think, one day it will happen but not possible in this year.

I will do the same, but ethereum is not my first choice. I prefer to choose cheap coin. Even though my choices weren't wise, I feel like they can do so much better. However, this choice is not merely incidental, given this such an undertaking could be planned beforehand, it`s offers the possibility to profit a lot at a low fees. |

Same. It will be Ethereum's year.
I got the feeling its value will boost to a higher level.
Look at it now at $850 just for hours. Didnt expect it. I was really shocked when I saw it.
But that proves it. This is just the start of the year and yet it moved like that.

Bitcoin. Always Bitcoin. It just keeps continuing its growth throughout the years. I'll be optimistic to where its price might go this year. It might be even higher than what majority of the speculation is. Any price you could imagine in Bitcoin will be concrete, it only needs time and more growth and even more attention or popularity for investors.

The only thing that i expect for the next year is just to see bitcoin more stable than during this year, to see it with lower fees, with transactions much more faster than what they are right now.. and of course, the lightning network.
It would be very nice to see Bitcoin becoming stable because this fluctuating nature of Bitcoin is the cause of chaos among the investors. I have no doubt in its strength but still one needs some kind of security. Thing that changes very randomly will definitely worry its holder. That is very understandable. However I am expecting this sort of behavior for at least coming 2 years as this is that time in which crypto currencies are supposed to go mainstream. |

2017 is really a good year for bitcoin especially the last quarter this year and the possibility that 2018 is also a good year for bitcoin is open if we change some issue including transaction cost and speed.
I do not understand with hardfork, this does not fix anything, or reduce the density of transaction traffic. just make everyone happy with new coins. should hadfork be the solution to the speed of cheap Bitcoin transactions and fees. The time taken by a transaction and the fee that is charged for this service have been problems for a long time now. I also hope that 2018 will do us some good in this regard. Bitcoin is falling down at the moment, I think the first half of the next year will be the same as that of 2017 and the real progress will be made by Bitcoin during the second half. Again we all can be wrong because Bitcoin is totally unpredictable like future. |

Yeah it is good to buy and hold bitcoin because till end of 2018 bitcoin will be out of reach and then it will be tough to have bitcoin at that much low price as it is available right now. I know bitcoin is high in price even now because price changed very highly from the start of 2017 till end of 2017 and now we will see bitcoin growing more for more till end of 2018, 19 so for me coming every year will be year for bitcoin. |

I think 2018 will be the year that people will start to recognize altcoins and learn to start how to trade them, since 2017 the year was for bitcoin, and a lot of people had also made a lot of income from altcoins, and since the drop of the price of bitcoin, we saw the rise of price when it comes to altcoins, i think that this year, will be the start for the year of cryptocurrencies, since acceptance is beginning to spread, and we already sa that bitcoin had overcome its obstacles, and so will the altcoins in the coming months, we might also see a battle of altcoins when it comes to the price, but bitcoin will still remain dominant.
