It will be the year of blockchain
blockchain technology is just getting started, i am very sure we will see its implementation in various things.
Not to mention, it has already become a hot topic for hackathons all around the world. I myself have participated in a blackthorn where we were asked to make blockchain based applications.
Bitcoin is just getting started, i am sure more and more people will invest and get to know of it. Media is already doing its working making it more reachable to the people unknown of this technology, atleast here in India.
Also, i have a huge trust on eth, it won't be surprising if it becomes more popular than bitcoin in upcoming years.

With the issues stated by the OP I think this year will be about Ripple (XRP). I have seen how fast and how cheap the transactions are for XRP and it has recently achieved a milestone in crossing the one dollar mark. There have also been a lot of talks in the trading group related to cryptocurrency that they are banking in for XRP next year, they have also a solid reason why from XRP being backed by banks to its terrific looking charts. But don't get me wrong Bitcoin will still have a wonderful year next year.

I hope that 2018 will be the year of ethereum. Because, I think the most powerful altcoin is ethereum and its price looks like continue to rise more.

Year 2017 was surely of Bitcoin, with more than 1600% increase in the price of Bitcoins, Reaching both milestones of 1k$ per coin to 10k$ per coin in the same year.

But Year 2018 will be the year of Ethereum or in general, of Blockchain.
The door is wide open for blockchains that use smart contracts, like Ethereum, and I believe their potential market dwarfs that of "store of value" chains. Platforms like ethereum are an operating system for decentralized finance and commerce.


Low transaction fees and fast confirmations are attracting more people to switch to Ethereum. I am confident that it will reach 1000$ per coin in early 2018.

It's security will be more reliable and of course, hackers and scammers will take advantage of this too. I believe that 2018 will still be bitcoin's year. It has proven already that bitcoin has all the potential and it has been surprising us that it will strike more that our expected value. I'm looking forward for 2018 by being optimistic so I'll stick with bitcoin that gave and helped me a lot thins year. I know that bitcoin will prove us more next year.

I think in 2018 it will be easier to just invest in some thrash coins and earn like 10/100 or even 1000 more cause of still growing amount of crypto users.

2018 will lead to the shaping up of bitcoin. Btc's foundation was not very firm but now it has become widely acclaimed and valuable so I'll most likely continue investing into btc even though there are some transaction issues and high volatility rates btc is one of the best investments one can invest into for making long term profits.

I think 2017 was a for regulations of cryptos in most parts of the world

I agree with what Stingers said above. 2018 will be a a massive year for blockchain technology. So many new products are going to be coming out of the woodwork and have working applications. Just having these different alt tokens being integrated into the working products and showing the general population that these different alt tokens have value is going to be huge. In my opinion, 2018 would be much more greater than 2017 wherein Bitcoin market price value would still progress much higher than what is expected. This will perhaps lead the other crypto currencies in the market.
