Ripple is on Fire, massive movement right last couple of days but today's growth is outstanding. Heard that, Ripple is starting to get more main stream news and coverage.
I bought some yesterday @ 2$ when I read in the crypto news that moneygram would used xrp in their online money transfer business for faster, safer and more secure transaction. but looks like it is still in consolidation mode |

I bought some XRP on 05.01. and thinking about exchanging part of it with another altcoin like Game or TRX as a security. Does it make sense?

On the other hand: transaction times are pretty fast and fees are usually pretty low, so it is perfectly usable.
Perfectly usable for what? Is anyone using it for said purpose? Yes, MoneyGram. And, s anyone using bitcoin for its intended purpose with insanely high transaction fees and slow proccessing times? |

People are buying rippple only because for one good reason. The reason is that they think Rippple is a good investment and Ripple they think can multiply their investments in good numbers. What other reasons anyway of why there are investing? It is for the money and for gaining.

Yes, I think that is one of main reason why people are buying Ripple; it is becoming a good investment as the value increasing and I think, sooner or later it will give you a good profit or maybe a high profit. |

Yeah correct. In fact, Ripple is owned by a group of banks. They can easily manipulate how the market price would go because they own a lot of percentage of the coin. |

- it is centralized (the company can freeze accounts if it wants, create more coins, or be sued)
- it's major use case is for inter-bank transfers. So if Bank A and Bank B was to exchange currency x for y, they will use XRP in-between. But this gives no value to the currency itself, it is just used as an intermediary. Is it conceivable that Ripple the company will not have enough XRP for these internal bank transfers and they are going to have to buy them back from the public??
So it seems that XRP has no value outside its use by the company Ripple. Is anyone actually using it for commerce or any other reason? It is not considered a store of value like bitcoin (in any case one would want something decentralized. I think Ripple has made a lot of good changes as well as they have come up with a new roadmap that will help all traders see the potential of it to thrive in the future which makes many people notice it as well as invest in it. |

Price could be manipulated, I agree since banks are probably pumping it up to gain interest from the public... But. it could be a good investment as I think Ripple will soon be used for microtransactions.

Ripple XRP caught attention during the high demand but slow transaction processing of bitcoin last month. Ripple was cheap at that time with virtually low transaction fee and blazing fast transaction speed that's why some imaptient investors bought XRP because of that features but to think of it that it was controlled by the bank it doesn't seem to be real cryptocurrency for it was centralized by bank and the Ripple system.
