Hey guys!

I've been busy meeting with many local craftspeople to expand the Gold Rhino range. The plan is cool, handmade African items for Bitcoin.

First up, I can offer these cool beadwork keychains with the BTCitcoin logo. Benjamin kindly made this one for me:

Here's another pic for the heck of it:

Benjamin can customise the colours, size & materials (a sturdy braided-copper outer ring is possible) for you. The shiny [edit - glass] beads make finding your keys at night easier. They're also good Bitcoin conversation starters - the eyecatching beadwork and African origin story leads to explanation of the BTC symbol.

Price for one like this is about 0.08BTC. Postage included in that; these are small and light enough to go by letter. Check out the Bitmit and Coingig links here or in my sig for exact pricing.

And here's a pic I'm putting up just to show the level of skill on offer (sadly this item is probably too heavy for shipping). This is "Old Man of Africa," a woodcarving by Fungayi:

I forgot to mention, the idea is to get the crafters into selling the goods themselves, for Bitcoin ideally but also through ebay and so on. Benjamin seems interested in Bitcoin, I didn't have the time to explain it much further than "computer money" though. If there's reasonable demand, I'll start and document a project to introduce the crafters to Bitcoin trading and international shipping.

Wow these are hand made and you are only charging 0.08 Btc? wow.

It's a bit less than 0.08BTC at the current price (I need $8 to pay the crafters and make a small profit) for the handmade keychain. I think that's a good price seeing as metal ones go for about $10. While it's handmade, Benjamin has been making these for a long time and it's amazing how quickly he can bend the wire frame and string the beads. I'll take some pics of the process next time I'm there.

That woodcarving would be more like 0.8BTC + shipping (it weighs at least 5 kgs.)

If you like these crafts, you can check out a lot more in my other thread. Smiley

Oh yeah, I should also mention the image here is only the "prototype" Benjamin made overnight. Now that the design's worked out, the BTC symbol in future "beadchains" will be more exact.

Not as standard, no. But your wish is the Gold Rhino's command! For a Bit more, I'll get a professional South African sangoma (witchdoctor) to lay a custom spell on your BTCeadchain.

I have in mind Professor Amir, "the best herbalist in Gauteng." He lives close to the crafters and has a website; his credentials speak for themselves.

Professor Amir, according to his site and business directory listing, offers a range of magicks:

* WITH THE POWER OF MY LINYOLO OIL I CAN MAKE YOUR MONEY MULTIPLY. [I'm pretty sure this magick unguent can be directly applied to your BTCeadchain for maximum cryptocurrency winning]

* WITH THE USE OF MY RATS, I CAN MAKE THEM BRING YOU MONEY DAILY. [the rats, as physical minions, will likely bring you Casascius coins rather than digitize themselves to retrieve dust and dormant coin from the network - that would be dangerous. If they swarm, it could precipitate a 51% magick vermin attack on the blockchain]

* HAVE YOU LOST THE ONE YOU LOVE, I CAN BRING HIM OR HER BACK SAME DAY.

* HAVE YOU FAILLED TO GIVE BIRTH, WITH MY NSEKE HERBS YOU WILL GET PREGNANT IN A FOURTNITE.

* Spiritual Healing and Home Cleansing, including removing thokoloshe [small, goblinlike creatures of evil] from homes, and protection of homes with voodoo spells.

* Communicating with Ancestors ( Ancestral Communication)  including researching your Ancestral Path. [this is different from that sham heraldry stuff in that the Prof. directly speaks to your venerable forebears]

* All Life Protection and Interventions.

* Black Magic and Lucky Charms. [I don't deal in the black magic market, you should check out Sphinx Road for that, but I'm happy to hook you up with lucky charms]

Unfortunately, in order for ANY of this to work I have to first believe. In any case, I'm gonna browse around Africa and see who's ready for financial revolution.

Believe in magic? Well, I don't. I'm an atheist. But these sangomas and a lot of people here really do believe in this stuff, it's a huge industry. Government is even stepping in to regulate the mojo market.

If you wanna talk Bitcoin in Africa, check out the forum in my sig.

Heh, I thought so too.

Offering customisation options here. If anyone wants their handmade BTCeadchain blessed or ensorcelled, I can accomodate that. Not sure what these sangomas charge, but why not be the first person to buy magic with Bitcoin?

Come on guys, under 0.08BTC for handmade, these are a bargain! "Risk" an escrowed eight bucks to get a cool, one-of-a-kind item and help me push Bitcoin in Africa!

I just did a search and it seem Kenyans are at the forefront. I'll buy one but haven't decided where to send it.
I'm thinking Great Zimbabwe University or such.
How will you package and send it?

Thanks, appreciate your custom. I hope to earn your positive feedback by providing you with good service.

I'm sure it will go by letter. I'll place it within card or cardboard. I'll get exact details for you in the morning, will need to look over various envelope sizes, etc.

Kenya is kicking ass with their M-Pesa adoption! And that's just been hooked up to Bitcoin wallets! So yeah, there's a lot of buzz about Bitcoin and Kenya, big potential there. Money transmission fees are steep in Africa and financial services in general are lacking, so Bitcoin could really do a lot of good here.

I'm not sure your purpose in sending it to Great Zimbabwe University, so hard to comment there.

It was at the top of the WIKI page. There's like ten others.
What's your BTC address. I will also require tracking. Send via DHL, FedEx or the equivalent. Add shipping cost to my final invoice.
.............if only I could somehow record the receivers expression........*Dhl guy shows up and hand over package. "Huh?!, Wtf is this! Where's the private key!?"  Grin

My address is 18j7VDYhePaYCqUmSo8JgjpybpsgvJwfdb - feel free to go through my Bitmit or Coingig stores if you'd like escrow.

I can easily send it via DHL with tracking, it will take 1 or 2 working days to Zimbabwe. Courier service will cost $23 bringing the total to 0.31BTC.
