The answer is no.  First, Ripple is the company, and XRP is the currency.  XRP is not the currency of the future, but it may play a huge role in the global banking market.  Only time will tell.

I agree

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

is ripple the coin in the future !? it depends what the world wants to be... in mid-term i think XRP will do really well. we wont get out from the banking system from one day to another and thats why i think, ripple will do great in the next years. i really dont know if the people are ready for the next big thing yet. i am 36 and not really understanding everything of the technology and its goals in general.

don´t wanna get into this to far in this topic, just wanna share my thoughts about XRP and why i believe it will stay, at least for a while

One good thing that could possible happen to ripple is stability. This is because some banks and financial institutions are already backing it. With such backing amongst the financial giants, it will be more likely that ripple will become an official currency at some point. How long that will take is a question that can't be clear now. My thinking would be when there are more "subscribers" to ripple than there are currently for bitcoin. And this is very possible because the skeptics of bitcoin will "feel safer" with ripple because well-known financial institutions are backing it.

Definitely Ripple will be the future of currency like the Bitcoin today. Because it is gaining widely accepted by the almost all developing countries with legal nod. Another opportunity it has is very low transaction costs.

I very much doubt that Ripple has any future at all, because as far as I remember recently there was news that banks deny using Ripple for translations. Then the question arises, why this project?

Evryone known what xrp in the last year ( something like 30000% ). The ripple project is workin' like future bank. In Your opinion is possibile for Ripple become the new global currency for the world?
thats not impossible we can say that ripple have some potential but we are not sure if all the bank will accept it or use it instead of establishing there own currency using smart contract because today that also not impossible

Ripple ($XRP) will never be a supportive currency in the world of crypto. Its centralized and could be generated when ever required, just like Tether/USDT or FIAT.
Giving power to Ripple is giving power to bank. Though, the price is subjected to increase with various banks taking interests in it, but again, per my view, $XRP is against crypto.

I think it depends a lot on how they market it and how well they can sell it to large institutions. It is entirely possible that they may dominate the market by just being the household name that the masses recognize, it has worked with other products before. Smiley

Absolutely not. The future is less resources, the search for alternative energy sources and new technologies for development. Well, Ripple's project is just a bank tool. I do not make a big bet on it.

Ripple is another cryptocurrency that is blooming beside Bitcoin and Ethereum. Ripple has been working with some of the largest financial institutions in the world. The idea of ripple is to make instant transactions in the entire financial sector possible using the blockchain technology. It is also expected to work as a liquidity solution for cross-border transactions like banks and other providers to use this digital currency to make these transactions to minimize the costs.

The price rise for Ripple has gone up by 4000 percent in the last year achieving a total of $10.3 billion. After these developments, by the end of 2018, the price is expected to pass the 2 dollar barrier.

Though general rise of the price is expected, not every month in 2018 could be the same. Some months we can expect downfalls. Many of the banks do not like the idea of some other financial institution to regulate their actions and cryptocurrencies.

In my opinion, Ripple is the opposite of everything cryptocurrency was meant to be. Banks love it, they control it - it’s centralized - did you know your funds can be instantly freezed without explanation?

I myself am darn absolutely sure that Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum are STILL going to rise and take off because the mass hasn’t adopted the technology yet.

Many say it’s a bubble but I would argue that - in 1999 many said that all the websites and internet techs are bubble (and many of them were!) but if you invested into the right tech (for example Google, Apple, Microsoft) you were much richer right now.

BTC is starting to get sluggish and fees are high but developers are working on it (Segwit, Lightning network, Atomic swaps…), it takes time. If you want your $$$ to grow, look into altcoins, but do your own research. Some are just thin air with many promises. Never invest more than you are able to lose.

I recommend Binance exchange as it is relatively new (launched at mid-summer 2017) but has become the largest exchange there is right now (daily volume over 4 billion dollars). Supports variety of altcoins like IOTA, Verge, Stellar etc. I find that it has a really nice UI and support but feel free to use other exchanges.

Cryptocurrency is now at the beginning of adoption phase, in this phase different country different company different banks or small business will shift towards different payment method. It will bring along huge demand and dependency. Then comes the phase of Government regulation, after government regulation comes adoption to new blockchain technologies. And in time everyone sticking to top 20 coins worldwide. Just like we are sticking with facebook and youtube.

Bright future, IMO. Ripple is well funded now and can buy its way into many financial institutions in terms of paying for the pilots and persuading them to adapt Ripple tech implementation and XRP as an utility token. Multiple trials have been going on from US (MoneyGram) to Japan/SK banks to Standard Chartered, etc.

If Ripple plays its cards wisely its tech could be de-facto standard for the cross-borders financial transactions.

Yes, I consider Ripple a very promising currency. It is very safe and fast, the transaction speed is faster than even bitcoins.

I am optimistic with XRP because Ripple (XRP) is not used to suppress the ability of the Central Bank. Because at first, this coin was released as an alternative to SWIFT. When Bitcoin and Ethereum suffered enough, Ripple continued to experience price increases up to 3240%. This stable coin exchange rate will allow many investors to buy lots of coins.

I don't believe that ripple is the currency of the future considering the fact that it is a centralized system and it has a long way in terms of its value compared to bitcoin and some other altcoins.I know many in our community despise XRP and its supporters as it is being controlled mostly by banksters who are clearly against decentralized coins

Ripple token is not usable for the txns being done on the network. It is just a share of the network. There are a lot of criticism being thrown at Ripple as being a centralized one same as bankers. For transacting, I have read that RaiBlocks is the next one with superb features like no fees, instant txns. Ripple is another cryptocurrency that is growing beside Bitcoin and Ethereum. The idea of ripple is to make instant transactions in the entire financial sector possible using the blockchain technology
