Hi, as Bitamain Antminer R4 is out of stock. Do you have any recommendation for other suitable miner for mining in home? Thank you in advance Bros!

you still can find R4 (new or 2nd hand ), then maybe you can get a GPU mining rig, some are ok for home use as low noise

I would say unless you are ok with buying extremely overpriced R4 units or investing into a shed/soundproofing equipment do not home mine Bitcoin. If you have a basement it is possible to put miners there but you’ll need good ventilation.

ASIC miners are not meant to be quiet. If yo uwant quiet go with GPU rigs, just beware they are twice as expensive and produce half the profit of an S9

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

No, they are pretty much all used now and out of production. The best you'll find are used and price gouged units that aren't worth it imo. Reliability is also not amazing on them and they're known to break and underperform often.

There are some pretty good YouTube videos on how to make an "antminer silencer box."

These are basically either a cool box or thick cardboard box with 5" (125cm) curved AC ducting at either end.

I have tried this on my S9 and it does do a good job of noise reduction.
As a side benefit as my miner is outside in a freezing shed it upped the hash rate slightly as it warmed it up a bit.

You can buy the antminer s9 and add the sound proof equipment available in most of the online retail site. That is makes your S9 miner without make big noise. Therefore, you would be able to have the antminer s9 in the home and make more money than you find the r4 miner hardware.
I do not think direct bitmain site providing option to purchase this tool. You go to alibabe, amazon or homedepot to buy this.

Lol, You are right that s9 miner set up will not be good at having in the home. If we add the multiple rigs in the home it will be not enough to make the mining without the sound. Even if you do it inside the sound proof also we will find some noise and heat issue also we cannot be compromise.
If you are around 10 S9 rig in the room means atleast you should have around 3 or more air conditioners inside the room that will be maintained around 30+ temperature with these AC as well.

Try to create a small soundproof room just for your S9. In that way, noise will be minimized. There are many tutorials in youtube on how to create a soundproof room.

Dude, that's about as loud as normal conversation or about the same as a typical AC.
The db scale is logarithmic so 55db is quite a decrease from the 80db they normally are.

I have an L3 and I ran it in the house for a few weeks. With the study door closed, it sounds close to a regular AC, that is true, but when the door is open and you are in the room, it is noisy like hell.

There is a guy on Ebay selling a "Lite Sounds Box", check him out. I bough one and it drops the noise in half.

Instead of buying all of these filters and silencers and whatnot that will probably decrease airflow, Philipma's wind tunnel is a great option that lowers noise easily, accommodates several miners and does not affect airflow. Also doesn't cost a lot. One video is found here, the rest can be found on his channel and in a thread in the Hardware section.

You mentioned mining in home. Does that mean the miner will be inside your residence? Living area?  Or perhaps in a garage?  I'd say your best bet if its inside your actual house, is to alt mine with GPU's, but it's in a garage or shed, I'd recommend the standard S9.

I don't know why all the fuss. I'm planning on mining (1-2 Antminer S9's) in my house. The house isn't huge and I know it will be noisy but meh, it is what it is. Most people say that without any kind of soundproofing or noise reduction, the miners run between 70-80dec. What you can do to try to understand that level and pitch of noise is run a very loud vacuum cleaner and a microwave simultaneously. This gave us about the right decibel with the higher pitch of the vacuum thrown in. When we did that, you could barely hear anything upstairs, and that's without noise reduction measures. But our house layout and setup could be very different than other people. To give people an idea of how I have things at home...

1.) House is about 2,000sq ft.
2.) House is 2 story. Miner will be downstairs, we stay upstairs about 90% of the time
3.) There is an entry/shoe room (where the miner/s will be) that has a door separating it from the rest of the house.
4.) Purchasing soundproofing foam to put in that room on the walls and ceiling. Like this (https://www.amazon.com/12-Pack-Acoustic-Panels-Studio/dp/B00TP7C9YY/)
5.) Also will be doing the cooler setup, especially if running more than 1 miner. See more about that here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS5nqMvcLDo) or here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uA3c9fjOSc)

Not sure what else to say really, I have everything figured out except for HOW TO GET A MINER! Tongue Seems I can't ever get my hands on one. We'll see how long it takes. Although, it may be a good thing to see how everything looks at the beginning of the year before I get my hands too deep into it!

If anyone is interested in my situation and how I have calculated things for "estimated" earnings, etc, let me know and I'd be happy to share. That said, I don't pay electricity costs (other than getting upgraded fuses for the house if I run 2 miners) so that is 1 cost I don't have to worry about.
