poloniex is bigger and better but you need to verify your identity
Poloniex has a bad reputation. HitBTC has a bad reputation too, so does Cryptopia but it seems Cryptopia is the lesser of the three. what is bad about poloniex? it is the oldest exchange and i have been using it since a year without any problem

Cryptopia is not bad. I've used it for a while now. Although the identity verification thing is a bother when withdrawing larger amounts.

Does Cryptopia have a KYC policy?
I would like to register on a crypto exchange and transfer some coins on it. Then I would like to make some trades.
At no point would I want to use the crypto exchange to convert coin for FIAT but I would like to keep them with a safe. Then at some point I will transfer the coins to my desktop.
I am looking for a crypto exchange that will not ask for my ID to transfer coins in or out.
I would appreciate advice please. I see on their website they purchased Nova Exchange so hopefully they will not do a Cryptsy.
I don't think cryptopia is one of the best out there but yeah, I think its on the average compared to other shabby trading platform. I think one of the reasons its so popular is its ease of use. As a newbie, when I first started trading its one of the first platforms that I used and within a day or two I was able to browse around comfortably within the whole platform. The UI is simple yet very versatile and easy to use, which is very good since what we simply want is to trade successfully.

They are just opening the site as read only mode and I think users can see the balance even if they got theft from the recent hacks because they just loaded with the previous data from before hacks happening so it is nothing changes and made the people to trust,of they can refund the lost amount then it might have some reputation.

I will never use Cryptopia again. No longer trust them and anyway they were hardly the best when it was active before the "hack"

IMO,crypto almost prepared for the exit scam before the scam was happened but later they said that it was security breach but I still think that Cryptopia planned this earlier stage itself when people starts to lose their trust because of issues happened with every withdrawal from that exchange.

I disagree. It was next to impossible for this to be a concerted and planned attempt at collusion by the main board members to scam. A quick search online shows Cryptopia owners having excellent reputation for honesty and not many people believe it was a scam carried out by the owners. Somehow, though, it seems 10% of the funds were stolen. I hope in the coming days they elaborate how the scam was carried out so we all can learn to protect ourselves better.

After all, using Cryptopia only if I have altcoins listed only there, exchange it and withdrawal immediately. it will take a long time to gain confidence again

Prior to the hack when i used it there was no requirement for KYC. I haven't used it since the hack and it is quite possible that they have changed their policies to be more stringent

I do not see it as a good move for anybody to trade, better to get your coins out as soon as they are able to then use another exchange. Better to be safe and avoid Cryptopia until concrete announcements are made about what happened and who might have done it along with "how" the hack took place. With all that information on hand users can decide if they want to use Cryptopia again or not.

It's not safe to trade here anymore, after the recent hacking there will be no second chance for this exchange, you can trade your coins here if you cannot find an exchange to your coin but trade immediately then leave, their reputation is badly tarnished because of the hacking incident.

I agree. That is precisely what I suggested.

To be honest, I do not trust this exchange and the hacker attack showed that the security level of this exchange leaves much to be desired and, accordingly, I cannot recommend this exchange for trading.

Before the hack i would say it is a trustworthy and reputable exchange. As it is registered in new zealand rather than panama it can be trusted. It is not one of the best as it mostly trades shitcoins, but it does work and people that were hacked got refunded.

Of course they are losing customers trust and traffic. I don't think it's safe to start using it again. I don't trust any of the exchanges out there. I do not believe there are any legit exchanges either. Hacked! simply a convenient way to cover up and steal people's money, isn't that?

Well if it has an chance of being successful or reputable it needs to make amends for the hack and assure users that it will not happen again. The hack has put many users off and most of the very few customers it had have decided to go elsewhere

Once being hacked then its normal for its users and spectators to lose interest to trade here anymore but as being said if your altcoins is mainly traded up only into this place then you wont really have any choice but as long you have sell and converted then better to get out asap rather than to wait for an another incident.
