Bitcoin is getting more and more competition. The technology itself is meh, it's this high values only due to high adoption rate and being first. They will need to do something about the fees and transaction speed to make it useful again for smaller transactions.

IMO Cardano will play a big role in 2018.

I do not think Bitcoin will ever be a stable coin, however, I think that it will significantly increase in price. Do not let the recent pullback scare you, because this has always been Bitcoin...two steps back, five steps forward.

No, Bitcoin Lightning Network will probably kill off those cheap/efficient coins.

Currently I'm waiting for the deepest BTC correction down to $7k before the summer. It's hard to say now the exact level to the end of 2018 but it most likely raise up to 50-100k.

First, this is Alt coin discussion, why is this topic listed here? Second, BTC is the original, the first. I think it will always maintain value. Most people entering the space are interested in profits, whether it's a centralized Ripple or whatever. I think there will be a ton of manipulation going on from banks. They say 2018 is the year of implementation, it's the year of the Alts. We will see a lot of funds pointing people to Alts.

Lightning network will move the price for sure, the biggest argument against BTC is the transaction time. Now, BTC was designed to be a certain way. Do we know everything that Satoshi knows? None of us do.

Difficult question. Futures on Bitcoin should stabilize the price of Bitcoin. But traders like to ride  on the "waves "of bitcoin. Also, bitcoin is becoming more popular, which should cause an increase in its price.
