#TechTip - If you mine for #Bitcoin, #Ethereum or any other crypto-coin make sure you setup your miner software to restart automatically as a service. Failure to do so means Microsoft Windows Update will reboot you in the middle of the night and steal all your digital gold! #Fact

Well now you know...  Grin
I saw that - hilarious!
By the way, his "beast miner" is basically two GPUs.

He'll get there. Good ol' Jerry!

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Hi!
I've made an inquiry regarding the price and it's 650$ including case, fans, mobo, cpu, ram, psu and disk. It's a good price? Fans are ok? Or it is better to just buy the case + mobo and after that buying fans from other place?
I have to mention I'm from Europe.

Thanks

Well if you really want the gold china PSU, it's worth it. Since I don't use the PSU it's better for me to buy the mobo and case seperately, and source the cpu, ssd, ram locally.

The seller only gave a $80 discount for removing the 1600w gold psu.

Ok, thanks for the headsup. After I've made the post here I saw that the PSU is chinesse Smiley)
You recommend a good psu at a good price? I see you guys are using server PSU.
Right now I have EVGA 1200W and Seasonic 850W+750W and work perfectly, but I cannot find those in stock.. so I have to rethink my options.

Hey guys, I've got electricians coming out this week to hopefully upgrade my main panel.

Does anyone here use PDUs and have any suggestions for them? Worth it? Or more worth just running outlets?

I prefer the Tripp Lite metered PDUs for my 220v 20A circuits. I prefer PDUs for the placement flexibility. I use the one below but do have other unmetered PDUs from them. The unmetered ones are cheaper but I like being able to quickly glance at the amp load.

Thanks for your response. This is the one I'm currently looking at: https://www.tripplite.com/5-5.8kw-single-phase-metered-pdu-208-240v-outlets-6-c19-24-c13-l6-30p-10ft-cord-0u-vertical~PDUMV30HV

My thinking is that the 10a extra will allow about 4-5 1200w-1600w PSUs plugged in and then balance out their consumption with the meter.

At 20a it does not seem cost effective.. it seems that just running a single gangbox outlet with 4 plugs would be best then, as those 4 outlets can easily provide the max draw.

I've used Tripp Lite at work and home for years. As long as you stick to the business focused products, you should be fine. If you have the option, making the circuits 30A would be a better choice. My PSUs are smaller and even at 20A I need a lot of plugs so using a PDU makes sense for my scenario. Good luck with the upgrade. How many circuits are you putting in?

TBD. My main panel is a paltry 150a right now.. I'm hoping to go to 250a or higher.

I'm going to be firing up my first Onda D1800 rig soon - only (2) GTX 1060 installed to start, but I have (2) more I'll be moving over to it once I get it running.

Any tips/tricks/advice for configuring the BIOS to run Windows 10 from a HDD? I'll be installing from bootable USB which I have successfully used to prep another bare board system once before so that part *shouldn't* be a problem.

Starting with: is it okay to partition the HDD with GPT and use UEFI BIOS, or is it strictly legacy BIOS?

Out of interest, has any of you tried a riserless board with non-blower-style GPUs? Surely they're too close to eachother to work efficiently, i.e. heat cross-contamination must be terrible?...

I will be doing just that - and yes, they are awfully close together. I'm planning on using supplemental fans to blow air either down onto the cards or across from the side opposite where the video jacks are.

Hi guys.

I want your opinion in nicehash now since they got hacked/whatever. I feel its really profitable when you can move funds freely to coinbase and then to GDAX with free withdraw. Seems like its one of the better options right now, or am i missing something?

Apart from high withdrawal fees (if not transferring to Coinbase).... its an easy and quick to sell hash power to buyers.

Which pool, which coin ... its quite tiring this chasing game... so if you want an easy way to accumulate BTC, yeah NH is a good place to be.

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

I plan on doing the same with the octominer motherboard, but I'm not sure when I'm going to get it. I have 8 GPUs on the way, does anybody know where to buy the Onda?

some riserless boards by onda have more spacing than others. the b250 d8p v1 has 2.5 spacing, some other models ive seen are only 2.

the d8p gives a decent amount of room between cards if they are double wide. i still use fans to force more air through though. all non blower type cards here.

I have non blower style GPU's on my one board, but i have them spaced out with an open slot in between them.

so this probably doesnt help you a ton.

A 30 amp monitored pdu is the way to go. Look for a used one. It's nice to be able to switch your rigs on/off remotely.

Marvel2 has some available:

or you can order them here (same Chinese seller many on this thread are using):

The supplier I bought my Onda from is sold out - and the price on the listing is now twice what I paid. That said, the Octominer board looks better overall anyway.
