It seems weak hands already sold their coins before this secret got revealed so there is no big dump happened after this discovery. I am still holding my coin which I bought last month on current price. I think it is good to take risk because there is still pumpers involve in it.

So at next weekend we are going to see hard fork taking place to fix the supply issues. It is fair step to clear the things after this HF they really deserve another chance to prove themselves. I also didn't liquidate my BTCP since I bought because of privacy features they want to deliver. Small risk worth but will not increase my stake.

I'm out, this coin is going to 0, sorry  Sad

And why do you feel the need to inform us? Why can't you sell your coins quietly?
Unless you want to spread FUD, and buy cheap BTCP.

Did you read about this?

Interesting fraud, creating an extra 2M premine and hiding it in the shielded pool  Undecided

Man, this is all that is wrong with crypto. No wonder the blood bath. So now what...another fork. Seems like every other week there is a hack, fork, scam...the karma in this space is poison. So what now? If you hold Bitcoin private in a wallet...what do you do.... or do you have to be a computer programming science major at University XX  to figure this crap out? Can someone just sent it to an exchange and have them figure it out? Crypto won't move forward until this stuff is resolved. And how are the names involved in this scam not in jail by now....exchanges stressing everyone about KYC and this and that.. while open scammers just keep stealing and wreaking crypto and nothing happens. I guess...just like in the real world :-) sad but true- Maybe crypto wont change anything.

Whatever you said is absolutely right about situation and problems this industry is facing. These are untested and short-aged forks that's why bugs and errors appears time to time. This year finished attraction of forks and this end well. Next year will be cleansing the unnecessary projects steadily. Only those with strong purposes and use cases will remain in the game. So far BTCP didn't deliver what its purpose of creation was let's see what is being delivered after fork.

BITCONNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECTT!!!!!!

Yes, i make fud because i want this coin to die(not to buy), and the scammers to be poor and punished for scamming people.
This is endless greed. Some people are happy if they even have something to eat.

This sh#tcoin is same as Bitconnect. Maybe even worse!

same here. this industry is still very young, and it is new technology. Wild West.

and as such, still chock full of amateurs, dilettantes, scammers, snake oil salesmen, grifters, etc

for the tech to mature and bear fruit, such rotten projects must whither and die.

another such instance is e.g. VERGE XVG - some hucksters scoop  up some failed shitclone of a shitclone ('DogeCoinDark'),

rebrand it and, pump it (PORNCAMS!!!1!!), and then it turns out their product is a shoddy piece of trash, and the only Q remaining is whether they are dilettantes, scammers, or both

An embarrassment for the crypto community and bad name and reputation for Bitcoin (since it is the best known) is what the BTCP team is doing with what they have done.

Simply scam like other forked coin who trying to make fool new people to buy these coins who have no serious purpose and being created without any solid plan. I never take this as serious project due to pump and dump nature.

This coin has been a disaster since it began, I still hold my 150k worth of BTCP (now like 2k or whatever) and I will average down a little at this price because one thing I know for sure is no matter how fucking useless the crooks behind this coin are, it will still pump next time around.

@thoth-Atlantian good luck, I got rid of mine as soon as I found out what was going on, so I can not trust a team in any way.

I will look at cause because I never claimed my BTCP as my Bitcoin's are in cold storage. There was lot of hype for BTCP because of its marketed privacy features that made me to go long on it. I still don't have plan to take out my Bitcoins out of cold storage just to claim this of other forked coins but will be watching closely if worth in future doing this. It think this Hard fork to fix the supply issue doesn't effect those like me, never claimed.

@jtalk I think the problem is that what they do from now on will not have any credibility, trust is lost faster than money and costs more to recover.

Lol, it took this for you to lose credibility in them. Not the fact that the guy responsible for this, also pumped and dumped whalecoin, zclassic, primecoin etc and wasn't shy about letting ppl know what he did. Shit he is still quite outspoken about it on twitter, claiming that ppl wanted this coins and he didn't force anyone to buy it. Technically, he is right. But that like intentionally poisoning a piece of cake and presenting it to an obese kid.

So yeah, its our fault/greed as a mass cos we cont to support bs like this. God knows how many insults were directed at it when this crap was pumping around $45 and i was advising ppl to stay away. Well, you can lick your would, while Rhett is somewhere in puerto rico living it up.
