Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

For all those waiting for their Electrum BTCP wallets to be updated for segwit transactions. I saw a post in Reddit that said its coming in Q3.

must be a sad joke..

so normal users can't extract their btcp from a segwit wallet until Q3 ?

This also holds back major exchanges you know..

What is the problem to move your coins from a segwit electrum wallet? You can use https://github.com/Ayms/bitcoin-transactions

Although it has good idea but distribution model was disgusting and it raised so many question on the pump and dump drama which happened into ZCL. If you have mind than how this could be possible 1 ZCL is equal to 1 BTC and that is the reason this coin is not getting attention from big investors.

There is no option that ZCL would cost the same as bitcoin... Bitcoin is the most known cryptocurrency in the world.

Is there a guide for non-programmers ?

Don't even know where to start..  Undecided

also this:

Note that segwit is not supported in BTCP but a fix has been implemented to move coins from segwit addresses, which does not seem to be working for now, under investigation, please contact us for segwit addresses

The link in the repo leading to "Note that segwit ..." is not up to date, I will modify it

The correct one is: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2827163.msg34513500#msg34513500

If you follow the instructions in https://github.com/Ayms/bitcoin-transactions, the installation is not diificult and it is supposed to be usable by anybody

You can contact us directly at contact peersm com (which you will have to do anyway for BTCP since we need to finalize ourselves the transactions that you generate)

We are thinking to automate the whole process from coins discovery for each fork to spending them

Rebase is coming and exchanges will follow! This coin is going to fucking explode!!!!!!!! Hang on to every coin it’s going to be a wild ride!

Who are you cheating on??? This is a coin-cleaner scam, like its creator Rhett. I'm just reading and I'm sorry for everyone who invests in this coin. I know that the BTCP team will cheat once again investors as it did 2 times with Zclassic and Whilecoin (I remind you that these 2 coins also created a Rhett crook like BTCP). Then judge for yourself and consider whether to invest in this fraudulent coin.

If anyone does not believe, read the previous articles, as well as the fate of Zclassic and Whilecoin who also created the team Rett.

What are the significant advantages of BITCOIN PRIVATE in contrast to the true bitcoin?

It has John McAfee on back end who is promoting this coin and showing very big price to make dream people. Rhett is also working behind the scene maybe we see next big pump to create new bag holders.

There are some interviews with him that I really like. He isn't dumb at all. He knows how to argue and sometimes brings up very strong points.

Yes... people simply read back in this thread to clearly see real evidence of a BTCP fraud coin which is continually promoted in this thread by Lontonbit = Rhett scammer.
Wontonbit talks this up coin up always but produces zero evidence to support what Wontonbit says.
Wontonbit becomes denigrating and abusive to anyone who dares say the real truth about BTCP.
Wontonbit is a known spreader of fake news and is a disinformation agent.

You can contact us directly at contact peersm com (which you will have to do anyway for BTCP since we need to finalize ourselves the transactions that you generate)

We are thinking to automate the whole process from coins discovery for each fork to spending them

Update: we are automating the tool for all forks, it will be available soon

Done:

The tool is now automated for each fork, you just need to input your addresses, corresponding private keys and the destination address, see https://github.com/Ayms/bitcoin-transactions#quick-start-guide

The tool is converting automatically the addresses but an address conversion feature has been added also

Next steps:

- claim and send coins for all the forks in one command

- web interface to connect to the tool

[update] forgot to say: dev fees ar now 6.25% and 12.5% for BTCP segwit (but no need any longer to send anything to us, this has been automated too), yes, I know, this is a scandal

[update 2] bech32 to any coin address conversion added, see https://github.com/Ayms/bitcoin-transactions#convert-addresses

can someone post an easy step by step tutorial on how to claim btc private on linux if you had your coins stored in segwit wallets
on electrum?

What's your problem? Getting the redeem script? There is a link for this in my repo, decoding it? the same, finding the private keys? the same, nothing is easy here and you should at least read/try what is available, or highlight clearly what you need and what is missing

You have to export keys from old wallet, then import it to btcp electrum wallet.

John McAfee is for BTCP as representative most probably because of his few posts on twitter where he came out on driving seat for BTCP. In the long run if they will have what to show in privacy field which is promised they can survive as alternative else everyone is aware of the fate. For the moment Bitcoin labeling isn't working for newly forked coins.

BTCP will also have to show first how strong their privacy technology is compared to coins like Monero.
https://hackernoon.com/watch-out-monero-bitcoin-private-is-closing-in-2dde9716c748?gi=60d444d3e839

Interesting read but these protocols are agile. The race will be on and in the end we as users can't complain about having several options.

You should ask in both threads to get a more neutral picture as communities tend to talk more positive about the coin they stand for.
