I'm trying to run ckpool on zetacoind. I think this could be a great tool for zetacoin mining community. Compiled last zetacoind also latest ckpool. ckpool connects to zetacoind fine. The problem is with submitting blocks: ERROR: AcceptBlock() : block height mismatch in coinbase ERROR: ProcessBlock() : AcceptBlock FAILED
I guess (I hope ) it is just the matter of changing few constants in ckpool... Looking through both source codes but can not pinpoint the required change... Any ideas? Thanks Personally, I'm using NOMP. Easy setup. https://github.com/zone117x/node-open-mining-portalI must admit NOMP works great for solomining - running for a week now with no problems. Less CPU, simpler solution than p2pool I was using earlier. Still think ckpool would do even better but I lack knowledge to make proper changes in the source code . Anyway, thanks for pointing me to NOMP.

I can then switch all my personal hashpower with a single command, on a scheduled cron or profitability.

Hello zetacoiners,
Just a little message to say that there are still some supporters out there and I'm one of them. About the devs concern, I'm currently trying to contact Giskard in order to merge zetacoin core with bitcoin 0.10 asap. We also are working on little projects based on zet blockchain and I hope we'll deliver soon.
If there is some people with dev skills here (any dev skill, really) please contact me, we desperately need more brains to move forward. You could join us on zetacoin's slack team.
Main projects atm are : - zetacoin core merging - simplified network monitoring tools - new desktop wallet with original features (not based on Qt) - zetacoinj (bitcoinj for zetacoin)
There still a lot of work to do and we are not numerous enough to do all the work needed in time. Help would be welcome !
We will try to communicate more about what we are doing in the near future, we're thinking about some kind of organization only in charge of zet infrastructure and dev communication, and we hope this will be on this year.

Let's make this happen! As it is now, it is stagnating anyway. We might as well try some innovation.

yes of course, we need even more coins, more inflation! what could go wrong... Amazing how few people understand basic supply and demand economic principles. Or just the simple fact that inflation is what has killed all worthless paper fiat.

Amazing how some people think they understand economics & monetary systems by reading a little bit about Austrian economics. Or just the simple fact that "paper fiat" has not been killed, and it is not worthless. BTW, can I have your worthless paper fiat? You can send it over by snail mail.

Actually, I have an economics degree. And you're right, $1 is now worth $.02, down 98% since the US went off the gold standard so it's not completely worthless. Haha! FACT: The average life of paper fiat currencies is 27 years, before they die [due to inflation, deflation, etc.]. The US Dollar is nearly twice that age; and surprise, it's in its death throws. And it was runaway printing - inflation - which has killed the dollar but you keep reading internet articles and remain ignorant; it looks like it's paying off for you. lol

Anyway, PoS or no PoS, the thing that can save ZET or other coins is not their scarcity, but their usability. If there will be real life use of ZET, ZET's price will rise. You can't rely on speculative economy only; and hoard on "scarcity", that's artificial... you need some fundamental value. "inflation" has never been a problem per se, if it's predictable. It only needs to be predictable. The problem is when central banks decide as if "on a whim", that makes situations chaotic and economic agents cannot act rationally within the system. But PoS is predictable (if I understand it correctly)/

Make pow/pos hybrid with pos reward very low (below 1% or 2% per year). Or merged mining and no pos. Avoid inflation (high rewards) like a desease! It kills every marketcap, no matter which coin. Inflation is decay. You don't want decay. Whatever you do: don't raise max coins by more than a few percent. my 2 cent

my 2 ZET
1. f'k pos
but if I am in the minority :/
POW r=1 POS r=1
This flat POS reward is all the rage trendy cool too! plus it allows you to not have to commit all your coins on a hot 'unlocked' wallet.
Also speed up the block chain if you fork (why not? transactions can CLEAR in 60sec) POW r=0.1 *every 15seconds POS r=1 *every 60 seconds
so a POW POW POW POS cycle in 1 minute make sure the KGW feature is top notch, not sure what is the latest and greatest diff recal scheme right now?
2. f'k pos
go MM speed up reduce r ... POW r=0.1 *every 10 seconds 6 algos *this means desktop friendly algos get some action! KGW feature is simple ... if stuck go to the next algo
