it was predicted that bitcoin prices would fall in the last week of 2017 and rise in the first week of 2018 but none of that has happent rather the price has beet pretty stable around 13500 usd.
what are your opinion on this,is it the time to trade or hold because i dont have enough funds to buy or invest more.

Give some time to hold dude, just hold on and have trust on bitcoin i say this because i'm the one like you that holding huge of bitcoin and hoping that bitcoin will price increase with this month. But still hold your pocket don't sell or trade if you do that you are in panic mode, don't panic remember last few months bitcoin will raised up and it has a big chance to raise up again.
Beside this the right time to buy bitcoin and invest more to double up you're capital by next month i guest.
Yeaaa be patient and collect what you have done in holding bitcoin later .
That is my principle , take a risk but always remember there is a scenario where things did not goes as planned.
Better to put your free money in bitcoin for long term investment rather than to trade it , unlesss if you looking for some daily profit then go trade with proper technique.

If you already have bitcoins, it's not right to cash them out or exchange for altcoins to start trading. It can make unexpected price rallies on the market, we can't predict the time for this.

I wouldn't miss the opportunity honestly.

Trading or holding will allow you to get benefit so If you're good at hold and trading then that's even better. My suggestion is to hold some Bitcoins for long term and trade a little. This way you are doing both and you won't miss out of big gains like I did.

at a time when the price of bitcoin does not rise, we better hold, and not sell until the price begins to rise.

Bitcoin price is near $15.000 again, it's time to hold. If you bought cheaper than this, you can sell if are in a hurry to make profit (but never sell all your BTCs), or you can wait some time and see what happens. There isn't how to lose money with BTCs nowadays, just don't sell cheaper than you bought!

This concern generated by the stable price of bitcoin is just a sign that you are a newbie in this business, and I still do not understand how there are people who dare to invest their scarce capital in something they do not know, only guided by opportunism and the desire to earn money easily and without effort. Anyone with a medium knowledge of markets knows that no asset can grow eternally and at some point tends to move in ranges, which is the most usual in the markets. Therefore I would hold and continue to trade other altcoins in the meantime.

Today the price of bitcoin is stable because there are so many holders. I think you must hold your bitcoins because in the future the price of btc will go up higher and higher.

keep hold. if you dont need money now or still can save your bitcoin for a long time so I think you should keep hold
If you want to get a big profits I advise you to hold bitcoin, too. You shouldn’t afraid of its price whether it will have an increase a decrease or a leveling out because the crypto currency is extremely volatile. Especially, remember that in crypto market, it requires you a lot, you must face with many risks, incur losses that would help you get huge benefits. Therefore keep calm and waiting, it will rise immediately.

well bitcoin now is in bull run and there is a possibility that it will hit all time high again if it breaks the 17.5 area.

Bitcoin value become slow moving for the past days because there are lot to consider like the holidays in which people are mostly in vacation, to relax, to celebrate and to enjoy the seasons but now everyone is back to their ranks and start focus in trading again in which the bitcoin value now is start moving forward again.

I think it's better to stick around, because someday bitcoin will have a good price, although it takes a long time but it will give you more profit.
I really agree with you, and in fact we can see that now the bitcoin prices are starting to creep up. and in the future I have a hunch that it will break the highest record.

I think if the price rising, we can try to trade and hold the rest of our bitcoin and save it for the highest price. I think we can make a profit with this and we can try to increase the amount that we have. but if you don't confident to trade then maybe hold is the best thing that you can do while you wait for the price increase higher. but you cannot increase the bitcoin amount if you don't do anything and only have that amount but you are ready to sell at any of price you want.

Holding is profitable because bitcoin will continue to increase its value in the future, no matter what will happen to the price that we can see on a daily basis we still have to believe that it will be big in the future. We have seen in the past, there are FUDS and negative news but after a dump bitcoin always recover so if you are holding then you should not make yourself affected with this kind of news that can create panic.

Just stick with it, it's not going to rise again that instantly it would take a little while before it recovers. But it's up to you wether you're going to trade, sell or hold your bitcoin.
If you think it's not gonna recover or you can't wait to earn profit then just invest to alt coins that is good for day trading and earn profit instantly.

but my suggestion is that just hold it, just hold it and you will know the answer why. Just let the bitcoin stay in your wallet for a while and profit.

I meanwhile actively buy it, it seems to me that in the coming days it will fall a little more in price, and then active growth will begin.

I'd advise you to still hold. The recovery of bitcoin from that downfall has been slow and steady.  The price has been growing steadily over the weeks.
The price of bitcoin as at now is over $16000 which is far more than the $13500 you said. Just wait a few more weeks and you will not regret holding.
