after it happens the usb lockup, did you check windows logs in the event viewer? (right click on computer > manage, then event viewer > windows logs from side panel) it should show some messages related to whats happening with the usb stick
Thats the first place i checked USB transfers are working normally under safe mode (im on safe mode right now, Its all working fine) Hopefully now with a way to make it work, We can work backwards to figure out whats stopping it, a "clean boot" does not work thats a good sign, try looking at your startup and see what been added recently, and disable/remove those, something there is probably the culprit hijackthis log would be of some help as well, you can post the results of the scan here http://sourceforge.net/projects/hjt/

Oh!, Suddenly out of nowhere a cleanboot works?! Im going to keep ReTesting the device, I dont trust this "functionality" Im also going to slowly enable items one at a time to figure out wtF is screwing it up
The USB devices do not work when CGMiner is running? Run test- All clear Run test with cgminer running - Fail Turn off CGMiner and retest - Works Turn on CGMiner and test - Fails Disable GPU with CGMiner running - Fail
Seriously? Why is CGMiner doing this?! im running 3.3.0, I guess i'll go update...

Yeah its not relevant, They've fixed that, and i found the issue to be apparently CGMiner, I'll have to ask ckolivas whats going on... Might be something to do with new USB ASIC support? considering that i can now Work Around this problem but not solve it, what would you say is fair pay for your efforts digit?

To disable USB in cgminer: --usb :0 To disable hotplug only but allow cgminer to scan for USB devices on startup --hotplug 0
You can turn hotplug on and off via the API On: java API "hotplug|5" Off: java API "hotplug|0"
To enable the cgminer API: --api-listen --api-allow W:127.0.0.1
... I've written that all in the README and API-README ...
P.S. Current cgminer is 3.3.1 ... current git is a lot more than 3.3.1

--usb :0 Worked! Thankyou Kano!!!
Also note (as I've mentioned in the cgminer thread) there are issues with some versions of libusb. The windows version has that issue also. That may (or may not) be part of the cause. The next release of cgminer will have the 'non-issue' libusb in all OS versions. Which may (or may not) help.

Im just going to bump my own thread for future referance, becuase i started pulling out my hair today when my USB drives failed to function, and i went "NOT AGAAAAIIIIN, FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU" then thought "wait.... Again?!, I remember this happening?!, how the fuck did i solve it... what was the issue?!, Oh thats right!, i even made a thread about it because i was so Freaking lost!, where was that!" I think other people may have this issue. Thankyou again Kano
