i think currently happening a large scale DDoS to largest pools, only slush's pool working and this is because of his DDos Protection... anyone else knows something?

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

The sad reality of the Bitcoin economy is that there is a large volume of 'people' who only see BTC as easy money that they can trade their mommy and daddy's electricity for.

Sigh.

I, for one, am happy that some parents are subsidizing the cost of protecting the blockchain from malicious interlopers.
