Mycelium is a great wallet. In my opinion the best mobile wallet.

Having said that, I abandoned Mycelium for Samourai Wallet instead. They work with SegWit so transactions using Samourai are cheaper than with Mycelium.

It's excellent wallet to my experiences. I started to use it on recommendation and never regret it. It's user friendly, safe, lot of options, new features are added all the time, one of the best mobile wallets so you can't go wrong.
Just make sure to export all private keys if once you change your mobile phone.

Yes , Mycelium is a very good mobile wallet . I have been using it for some time now and it has never disapointed me in terms of its service . The funds never got lost or there was no theft . Actually it has a good backup with a series of security key which helps you to get an accsess to it at anytime using any device . The key remains safe with you and your wallet is safe . The mining fees ranges  from high to low depending upon the priority of your transaction which is also selected by you .  You can also add multiple accounts on it which makes the work very easy for accessing different wallet  for different purpose . So Mycelium is a good wallet , there is no harm in using it .

Mycelium is one of the most commonly used wallets on Android, you can just check its reviews to see that's it trustworthy.

I'd make sure you use 2-factor authentication to keep it secure, and do not keep the password to your wallet saved on your phone.

You cannot know whether it is good and safe kind of wallet if you did not try to use it. But for me it is good to use like me that only using android. Actually its up to you how to keep your wallet safe, avoid to tell others about your wallet password and private key .

i'm thinking to use Mycelium Wallet. Please advised me it's safe or not ?  Undecided Undecided

Safe from who?

Safe from Google ( GOOGLE is NSA - PUTIN ) Huh

Safe from the guy who steals your phone?

The weakest link in BITCOIN history has been wallets and exchanges, remember blockchain.info and their infamous 'r' value that didn't change?

If you don't own or control your private keys, then its not your money, as soon as you trade your priv-key with wallet software, then your putting your trust in a company that no individual left a trap or back door in the code, happens all the time.

Is it safe? Sort of like Lord of the Rings, ... keep it secret, keep it safe, but as soon as you give those private keys to a wallet software on your ANDROID all bets are off, things are out of your hands,

AS you can see on this forum 99% of the ppl have a vested in interest in proclaiming 'mycelium' is the best, I'm of the school that ANDROID is a portable tracking device, ... and the simple fact that your running a wallet on android makes you a target, question is 'have u ever viewed porn' on that device? if answer is yes, then key logging software is already watching you, ... Ton's of people hacking androids and watching listening, hacking, cracking your every transaction, ..

Your question is about 'mycelium' but the answer is about the entire premise of non-vaulted cold-storage, its a cruel world out there, ..

IMHO anybody that walking around with more than $100 USD value on their phone is a guy looking to lose his $100, as the ability to steal this stuff gets more common they will dial down the amount they take, currently the russian key-stroke loggers can wait years to determine the best time to rob you ....

It is by far the most trusted wallet in your android phone if you read what the others say, in my experienced on it yeah it is really safe your coins are safe and stored and can be protected once you used the authentication factor in which the password must be remembered, and store in a safe place you can write it in a piece of paper and store it somewhere you feel safe, as far as the transaction goes it goes along pretty as long as you pay the desired transaction fee to miners for them to confirmed your transactions.

just a note to every new bitcoin users.... mycelium or any other wallet isnt 100% save.

amount < 500USD, use a phone wallet like mycelium or coinomi
amount between 500 -5000 use a hardware wallet like trezor or keepkey or ledger etc...
amount > 5000 use only a paperwallet created on an offline computer en learn to sign the transactions using electrum on a offline computer and broadcasting on online computer.

If you have more than 5000USD and use anything else than a paperwallet your risking to lose a lot of money!!!

Probably one of the safest and most trusted wallet for trading in the cryptocurrency out there. So far so good, I have no issues or problems being encountered to it lately, and most the transactions I've made here directly goes to it's correct destination or persons to whom the transactions should be sent to and the protection is one of the best out there.

Your right mycelium is one of the best offline wallet, in crypto currency industry if you don't know many people are using this wallet. I'm one of the million people who supports to this wallet, also if you asked regarding the safeness of mycelium. Yes it is safe, but it depends to you on how can you secured it, because if you discuss your password into other persons there's a possibility that you lost your amount in your wallet.

Your right mycelium is one of the best offline wallet...

Mycelium is not an offline wallet. Its a mobile wallet (comparable to a desktop wallet, for mobiles).
An offline wallet is considered to be the most secured wallet (because of a low amount of possible attack vectors).
A mobile wallet on the other hand is not safer than a desktop wallet (But also not really less secured; Android is not worse than windows).

The security of the mobile wallet is not only dependend on the secrecy of the password.
I would not trust a mobile wallet with amounts more worth than the mobile itself.
In the end its just a small computer with a desktop wallet on it.

It is a lightweight wallet to be precise. Also, it is considered as offline wallet but of course you need internet for your transactions to took place in blockchain.

In terms of security, the thing that you need to do is keeping your seeds safely then put a PIN to your Mycelium then that's it. I don't recommend storing your seeds in any devices and sharing your PIN is a massive NO. And yes, if you have a large amount of Bitcoin then purchase a more secure wallet.

Mycelium is not considered as an offline wallet.
It would have to be airgapped and offline to be effectively called an offline wallet.
Even if you turn off wlan / mobile internet on a smartphone its still not airgapped.

No. Such mistakes lead to losses followed from accusations towards developers of a wallet.
The Mycelium pin is stored unencrypted on your phone. On a rooted phone it would be the easiest task for a malware to retrieve the pin code and sign transactions / steal funds.

You obviously don't have any clue regarding security of IT systems.
Please stop spreading contentual wrong statements.

no one's made the difference explicit between the android and ios versions in this thread so far.

mycelium is kind of old hat in certain aspects, but the android version is still actively developed. anyone using it on apple is basically using abandonware by this point and should be shopping elsewhere.
