But we're still talking about the reward halving, so any miners would be getting half of what they used to get per block. It still means that miners would be able to sell half of what they used to sell before.

I think that even without the distribution method chosen by DeepOnion, there are lots of things that make this coin attractive. The wheel may only be invented once but that doesn't mean all cars are alike.
