I never used coinbase to buy bitcoin but from what I know, transactions can take up to some minuted to be registered in the blockchain. From what I see, the OP on reddit didn't bother to update. I'm sure his transaction would be done by now.

Once you are verified, there is a certain amount of transactions that can be performed immediately.  These immediate transactions take up to an hour to verify.  I've used nothing but coinbase and am pleased with their process. At least I know I can drive down the road and put a face to a company.  Can't say as much for a lot of these other questionable markets.

No issues here.... I think the reddit OP was probably just impatient. Occasionally, I get a buy/sell order that may take longer to confirm in the blockhain with them, but overall it's not that bad. I think they've been testing the # of confirms over the past year on what's reasonable vs what's safe. Like all software and systems, there will occasionally be issues. My experience with coinbase has been top notch, in both technical support and service.  I started with Gox (booo!) and then moved to BTC-e, which is ok too if you can read russian and spend all day finding cash cards that will work in latvia.  Roll Eyes  Sticking with coinbase here....

Coinbase withdrawals seem to be taking a little longer than they did months ago, but I still have yet to see any significant problems that would be a reason to worry.

Keep in mind that the number of users that they have has grown exponentially, and they have openly stated that they only keep so much in their hot wallet

AVOID THEM WHEN VOLATILITY IS MAD!!!! OTherise they are perfect. Like if you used them today you would very few issues and great fast helpful customer service but when they are swamped the way Mtgox and other were during the bull of 2013, you can only expect a team of people to cope with the shear demand. Human nature.

This morning, withdrew around 4:30 A.M. Pacific Time, no problem.

This evening, withdrew around 5:30 PM Pacific Time and it still hasn't hit the blockchain yet.

Edit:  Finally started to withdraw around 7:00 PM Pacific Time with no typical email confirmation.
