Huh True or False: CoinTerra's first ASIC's Hash-Rate is greater than 500 GH/s?

Technically, yes.

It's the PCB that is slowing it down.

Question for HF: did your first shipped batch resulted in a performance >= of 400GH per chip? No, it was 390GH. And you used a fake result in your mining dashboard to prove your customers that they were mining at 400GH, right?

Does anyone has a clue that by when cointerra is going to fix this PCB issue? Do old customers get benefits when they fix up this issue? Or it just benefits those new Terraminers using new designed PCB board.

dont shoot the messenger...

i visited cointerra briefly yesterday and will probably pop back on monday before i go home (to london.. after attending the austin bitcoin conf and sxsw).  i also met with cloudhashing, who are hosting several of my systems.

I've been assuming that firmware updates help improve stability and give modest gains...  (as has been reported by others already - the latest firmware last week helped several systems eek out a bit more juice ... forum users mostly report good results)

I suspect the new board will only be used for future production (since they continue to claim 2 TH/s in their online store for May and June batch systems, they seem confident the may and june batches will be utilising the next board).

i don't think its realistic nor worth sending any of the existing machines back for an upgrade to get the boards replaced (the cost to both sides, several hundred bucks in shipping, plus downtime while its not hashing, etc - thus it isn't worth the effort nor significant expense)... let alone what it would cost cointerra to write off old boards and supply new ones (the chips are soldered in)... so being realistic, this is unlikely (imho!) to happen...

so, what we have right now, hashing away (at 1.6-1.7 th/s) is likely what it is and i doubt it will change much.. just improved with firmware updates and tweaks.  heck maybe someone will figure out how to over clock it like has happened over in the knc forums!

Is the statement "Only HashFast has demonstrated a working 2TH/s miner" true or false?

Nobody cares! You obviously don't understand that the amount of hashing power delivered to the customer is the only number that counts.

Would you prefer 1.5 TH now, or 2 TH at an undefined date in the future (which can be "never", looking at the current record and situation (broke?) at HashLast)?

Is there any proof of a CT box doing 2TH, or are the haters making stuff up just to troll?
I cant believe you show your face in another thread.... go back to your self moderated thread until your company stops scamming people....
Minor Miner advised me to
stay up to date on what is available in the market right now.
So that's what I'm going to do.
Now, have you any input on the issue of whether or not Cointerra's claim to have "greater than 500 GH/s" is true?
All I see on this thread are numerous reports of the "greater than 500 GH/s" claim in the OP being empirically false, citing demonstrated performance shortcomings of 20% under spec or worse.
Given the two unverified claims of 2TH CT boxes in the wild, we should resolve the matter in a calm, rational manner.
AFAIK only HashFast has demonstrated a working 2TH miner (at this week's Austin BTC conference).
But I'd love to see proof my belief is outdated or wrong.  Are you going to help answer, or just attack me for daring to ask an on-topic, if impudent, question?
I have told you I have seven above that number.   Put your money where your mouth is and buy them from me and you can hash them side by side with yours for the entire world to see whose machines are the better return.   I will sell them to you as a group for 600 coins.   That is less than your company took from people for 2.5TH/s of equipment that you delivered months late.   Be a man and send the coins.  I will ship the machines the same day and you will have them the next day in SF and you can show the whole world, side by side, whether your machines are better than these.   I will see you ONE for 400 BTC or all seven for 600BTC.   You chose.
Put up or shut up and admit to being just a blowhard.

I don't get why the whole community scammed by hashfast hasn't negative repped their scam my BJ only ever did 390 lol overclocked. So don't worry cointerra is still better at admitting theirs doesn't reach the advertised hash rate than lying like those monkeys at hashfast who never even hit specs with the BJ but can delete all posts of their lie of 800 gh board which clearly only hits 750 dumb fucks scared to show their face who be hiding and trolling on other threads like this one I hope you really love hashfast because honestly that's all you have ugly ass fool. Yes I am talking about the fools at hashfast who need to stay in hiding and only talk when they update orders.

The issue of lower hashrate + higher power usage will never be fixed. They have literally switched products if you see on their site to 400Ghz PCI-E based product because its quite obvious they don't have a solution for this.

Judging by how [Cointerra] have handled everything so far, they arent going to make it right for anyone in the early batches, they are going to ignore the criticisms about their late, overpowered, underperforming machines and just continue to scam people out of their hard earned bitcoin.  I can't believe theyre still claiming on their site that they are performing up to spec, not to mention theyre taking pre orders for June now?!  It doesnt matter how polished or if they look like they have their shit together, they have acted just like every other asic company out there.

I'm hearing rumors of Cointerra chips actually operating at the advertised "greater than 500GH/s."

The relevance of HashFast's EVO product is obvious; it's the highest performance Custom Hardware ever demonstrated.
This is not true.   I have CT that are hashing faster than that right now.   You need to stay up to date on what is available in the market right now.   I am willing to sell you one if you wish to see.

How can [HashFast's Sierra EVO] be the worlds first 2th miner when people have been able to reach 2th on a terraminer?

Is there any proof of a CT box doing 2TH, or are the haters making stuff up just to troll?

Hashfast is calling me a troll this is rich

This new firmware has made my good unit better with it getting 1.5thash on eligius but it's made the bum January unit even more unstable, now it'll only hash at the high rate briefly before the rates tank and a reboot only gets the normal rates briefly before it tanks again. And of course this is a unit that showed up suspiciously missing the warranty stickers and missing the plug guard and with rubber feet already screwed in-I'm almost 100% sure this unit had problems during testing at cointerra.  http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1MiHnbJ5Kiab9SskUGm5quyhx4aJGYRBYu
You can see brief spikes back to normal once I reboot it and then the hashrate crashes down and keeps going.  Very bizarre, it's right next to the good machine that just chugs along at 1.5 steady

The Proof is soon to come and the HalfTard_CL can be laid to rest,  I've been testing a beta FW and yes these boxes are more than capable to hit the 2 TH/s mark (with Burst of 5 sec in the 3+ Th/s), and here it shows that yes 4 chips is better than 3.

FACT CoinTerra can achieve 2TH/s = True
FACT HF  are Thieves that sell Lies ,and Trolls with Deceptive marketing.

new firmware download:

http://cointerra.com/firmware-downloads/

has anyone tried it yet?

[...]

I'll give it another day or two. If all looks well, I'll probably try bumping up the power a little and see how it holds up.

Just to quote myself and state the results, the firmware upgrade has helped with stability quite a bit. Bumped up the power to '6' last week and maintained 1.4TH/s since then (no reboots, yay!). No cores have gone offline, and there's been less fluctuation with hashrate (both from the device 'status' page and from the pool). I'll try increasing the power a bit more over the next few days and see how it holds up.

This is amusing, the firmware update now has both machines reporting the same local rate over the last day, both are claiming they're mining at 1.6Thash...except the machine that used to report rates about 100Ghash slower, is still 100Ghash slower on the pool (1.5Thash seen at pool on the good machine, 1.4Thash on the bad one).  This is really bizarre.
