where did you get the picture from?

[edit.. ah, ok, its on ct's web site.. sorry!]

[another edit:   you also need to take account that they have more than one factory making the boxes]

Did any body get a tracking number yet? Seem like they announce they are shipping immediately but it is not true. Only one person by the screen name of Bitscavenger received his. I read in the other forum that he personally picked it up though. @Cointerra PLEASE STOP MAKING US WAIT! Time is money.  Cry

assuming we get our Terraminer by next week. How much BTC we expect to make from each miner within 3-6 months. I have got some pretty decent offer to sell my miner for $20K thinking if i should take on that offer, any thoughts?

you are crazy to even thinking about this, if someone is seriously paying you $20K, sell it asap.

This box will not make a profit at $20k with just 15% increase per, at 1.6TH and $0.15kw.  If you change to 20% increase per and it's a money loser.  And this is assuming you start mining today, which you are not.

Given the wave of THs that are surely coming within the next 2-4 months, i would sell this asap and pocket the profit. I can guarantee the difficulty gap will be >20% when the first waves hit, hopefully afterwards it will start to flatten out but who knows.

Any chance you can link your eligius stats page?

bitscavenger 1 point 8 hours ago
I think I would rather keep that private. Not so much from you good people in this subreddit, but from the internet as a whole.

DidHeJust 2 points 2 days ago
Was this donated or were you really order #1?
What was your order# btw if you do not mind me asking.
PICS?! Smiley

bitscavenger 1 point 2 days ago
I will have to grab a picture from my phone (unfortunately it is blurry and kind of non-descript). There was an alteration to my order so I got a new number but I was assured I was still in first group. I really doubt I was the first order but I think I was the first order where I requested that I just pick it up from their distribution center instead of having it shipped.
This was not a donation. I definitely paid for it.

bitscavenger 1 point 2 days ago
Yeah, sorry, looking at the pictures I took on my phone you can't tell anything. I put a link to their press release. They got better pictures. That is me shaking hands with Ravi in the center.

DidHeJust 1 point 2 days ago
I would love to see some pics/vids - whats the power draw? etc etc. Tons of Qs!
Hrmm. I was a very early customer with a few batch 1 december delivery sierras.. Haven't heard a word yet. Located in California.

bitscavenger 1 point 2 days ago
From what they have told me, and this is in the press release, they are ramping production and shipping today. They did not disclose to me how fast they will get through the December batch. So the picture on the press release is from Friday. Because of snowmagedon 2014 in Austin the FCC certification did not make it through on Friday. I got my picture taken, saw the box, and then had to leave without it because they could not legally give it to me. Kind of a tease but they have been super helpful ever since then and, hell, I was still getting the first one so its kind of hard to bitch about it.

sound from these excuse nobody got anything, not even supposed first customer. just small PR trick to buy some time?

I can see approximately 250-300 units. That's about 1/3 of the December order queue that we can (sort of) confirm physically exist. They pushed the button to start production sometime last week, so perhaps the last December orders will have to wait another week or two. I'm hoping I'm wrong, but that's a pretty good worst-case guess given the image.

look like around 90 empty, metal enclosures, I didn't visit but seemed they employ 2 children on assembly line to do this job. really not single unit is assembled in past 72+ hours?

I think it is rather simple for us already mining. We need just a little reduction in Bitcoin price.

The risk for these new machines is rising exponentially when bitcoin price starts falling.

I do think this year, many people will need money to pay debt, and bitcoin will fall, like the economy/stock market.

So they shook his hand, made it look like it was his machine at that very moment, and then told the poor kid he can't have it yet?

If that's not public deception I don't know what is.. don't take pictures of hand offs if its not even a hand off

theres two sides to every story.  i heard they gave it to him in the ceremony and took photos at the time...    then plugged it in and left it hashing with his own address... using their electricity... cos they hadn't received their fcc/ul approvals in time for him to walk away with it that day (not allowed to sell an unlicensed device)   the approvals came in the next day so he took it home later... big deal, no harm done.   doesn't sound like a big deception to me.  he took ownership of it, and it made bitcoins for him from the moment of the ceremony and he had it at home before ct made the announcement.  why is that public deception?   he seems pretty happy about it, and complimentary of ct.  did u not see his reddit posts?

So the  fcc/ul approvals are in?  Why aren't we hearing from anyone else about shipping? My order just shows "processing" as it has for months.

wish there was someone from cointerra on here to answer questions...  thats one thing i think they're definitely lacking in... is forum coverage!  they only seem to come here when they want to announce something... they don't read posts nor answer questions.

I am looking at both news updates, and I cant find a single word about the approved Certifications, which makes me wonder how that customer walked out with his miner as they claim (and as he claim).
so I will quote their update which you cant find on their news page but you can still acces throug reddit from the AMA thread

So this is what the miner wrote, and BTW no picture no videos to prove that he really have the miner:

I am the guy who got the first Cointerra miner AMA.
submitted 2 days ago* by bitscavenger
I will be online for about an hour an a half if anyone wants to chat. Here is their press release:
http://cointerra.com/pr-cointerra-begins-shipment-terraminer-iv-worlds-fastest-bitcoin-miner/
Here are some basics.
I was a "December" batch customer.
The machine is secure in a server room. Home is not a good place to run this IMO.
I am mining on Eligius but I will monitor that in case their share gets too big.
I do not know anyone from Cointerra personally. I was chosen to be customer 1 because I live in Austin and I am active in the local bitcoin community (is what they told me).
I have certainly met a lot of Cointerra people since a week ago and I really like everyone I met.
I am the guy doing the Numisalis coin. I am wearing that shirt in the picture. I still really believe in it and encourage contributions to the Indiegogo campaign.
Fire away!
edit: Stats!
The miners typically run at ~1.7TH/s. I have seen it jump to 2TH/s and have seen it drop to 1.55TH/s but those speeds are not sustained.
There are 2 power supplies. Each pulls 1kW pretty much on the nose. Fans run at full speed all the time right now. I have been told a not-yet-scheduled firmware upgrade will address that as well as other power and speed improvements. I can only go on what I see right now though.

both updates doesn't mention anything about shipping time neither if any other order being shipped and nothing about the certification.

http://cointerra.com/pr-cointerra-begins-shipment-terraminer-iv-worlds-fastest-bitcoin-miner/

http://cointerra.com/update-production-news-janfeb-batch-customer-offer/

Disclaimer:  I am not a direct customer, I am an investor in Peta-mine, which is based of Cointerra and Bitmine hardware, and they both failed to deliver in time which put us all in a bad position.

bitmine got their chips after hashfast but before cointerra.  they should've delivered units by now.  think they got their chips a month before cointerra - at least they taped out a month or two before cointerra.

its also unknown how well their box works.  am eager to hear... (might order some myself if it delivers)

i mentioned this months ago but i would love to hear news on whether their 3,000 watt power supply will deliver all 3,000 watts when run on a single US power circuit (120 volt) as that seems like a lot to expect out of a US power outlet, and i worry that the power supply might max out at 1800 watts when used in the US.
