Both is ideal; if you have a job day trading is hard to do, but one can do it part time.  With the long term hodling if one picks wisely, or not even so wisely sometimes, and puts it away it's much less stressful.  Having said that the rush from pulling off some high gains in a short period of time can be a benefit, although that will be balanced out by the stress of having your coin or token dumping and not being able to get in to get out.

Whether scalp trading or long-term trading has different results depends on the market and which coin that you want to trade.
For example, if I want to trade eth, ltc, zcoin, dash, xmr or btc, I will hold it for a long-term as it will be more profitable.

If you are very good day trader, you will probably have more profits doing that, because the market cycles a lot during a day, and if you make all the right decisions, you will win a lot. Long term trading is more safe in my opinion and works best for the majority of people. You might be in the red for some time, but you will eventually get to the profit most of the times, because we still are on a bull market, so it's almost some "safe" profit. You should try both types of trading with small amounts and see what suits you best.

I prefer you both of them, for me now i separated my accounts in to two one for day trading and the other hand is for long term purposes with solid fundamental coins like bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin and ripple, these account intended with long term method. After  reading the whole thread I want to point out some things. First of all day trading is not the same thing as scalping, especially in crypto. In day trading you can hold your positions for several hours while in scalping you can close your position in some minutes. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think that a pure scalping is possible in crypto  just because you will need a bigger leverage to get a decent benefit from micro movement.
If you compare day trading and hodling (which is not trading) then of the first one will bring you more profit.

Oh yeah, I have been combining these two for a while now and I have never regretted that move for once. Sometimes, you just have to make do with those quick long swings and get some good profit from them while day trading and for the long term, man, those can even come with even more profit than you can imagine. I prefer both and as long as I keep making profit from them, and there is time to day trade, no problem.

If you have the big capital to trade, scalping is the easiest and faster way to generate profits in trading as most cryptocurrencies fluctuate in minutes. But, if you don't, just waiting for long-term like weeks or months for the coins to gain more value and then sell it, in most case; people waiting for months for new coins to reach a higher price. But in general, if you can't wait for months, some coins prices such as eth, ltc, dash, xmr, xrp can increases within days or weeks which make you can extract the profits.

That's right, but for short-term trading, I think it's very difficult and too risky. Better do long-term trading as you have to say above. Better we wait until a few months and even a few years to bring a definite profit. For long-term investments, I think Bitcoin and Ethereum are pretty good. But do not invest for a few months, I prefer to invest for a year and sell at the right time. Because usually at that time their prices have increased dramatically. I do not like to sell cryptocurrency indiscriminately and better get more profit by waiting longer. For the short-term, just use the new Altcoins from market.

I think both types of trading are equally generating a large return, and also high risk. but if you already believe one of these trades then should occupied with your skills and strategies. This trade is very profitable for us, but if you do not know how to trade then it will not be profitable, but will harm your own. then before trading should first learn how to trade, so no trouble in trading later.

Yes, this is quite better than to work blindly. You shouldn’t be working in this field if you don’t have any basic knowledge of what is right and what is wrong. Many people have been scammed by the hackers and other fake exchanges as they don’t know what are ifs and buts of it. So, trading requires some strong conceptual knowledge so that the results can be produced better.

Long term trading has more promising result but may get you into a lost too while scalping gives you adrenaline rush and profits fast.for me Id like to go on to scalping and hold on to coins which is listed on top on cmc. i do scalping but I always make sure I leave some coins so if ever it pumps I still hold some.

I think that day trading is for high-skilled and experienced traders. And long term trading (which I do) for cyrpto-currency enthusiasts.
I could never to be succesful in day trading. But I know plenty of people who are spending their 12 hours in a day with day trading and earning good profits.

Biggest gains happen with long term HODLing.  Almost all crypto millionnaires attribute their success to holding the crypto for potential gains.
I allocated 75% of my portfolio to long term and 25% to short term trading.  
I would love to scalp Bitcoin as there are so many beautiful swings on a daily basis but havent't found a good platform.
There are some FX brokers that offer Btc trading but the spread is so wide it makes scalping not very profitable.

Long term trading is better, I don't need waste my time see the chart & get stress. Day trading is just like employee work on the factory but long term trading is similar with boss, have extra time for him self but need more patience to get profit. If you are a big fan of some one single currency and you are quite sure that this currency will boom in future due to such a great concept it has or whatever the reason is then I think you will be better if you HODL it. But if you are of an opinion that every crypto is shit in long term but can give a good gain daily then scalping is your cup of tea. Scalping requires much more headache while hodling is quite soothing option for many.

Take the majority part of your funds into longterm and a little part to day trading, if you are smart enough to gain daily 1 or 2 % profit in average. Longterm will cover your funds from sudden losses. Short term is for fast earnings.

I have experience with both strategies.
IMO, in the short-term and Mid-term, Scalping gain more profits than Long-term trading.
But in the long-term, Long-term trading gain more profits than Scalping.

I also have tried day trade which really make a stressfull day because mostly of my trade was a loss. Rather than risking on it, I tried a week trade which was really effective. Just setting up my selling value which I buy at lowest. Some times it would take a 100% increase which really make a difference in my trade. After that, I will buy again a new coin and sell it again even at 10% profit.

Scalping or daily trading needs a good skills in knowing when to buy and when to exite mostly they use Technical analysis. Based on my experience you are right daily trading was too stressful because one time that you don't sell in a specific price and you're out what i mean is your stratedgy goes back to zero. In long term there are no big stress because you can leave it for a week or months and go back you may see a nice gains on that already depending on the potential of an altcoin.

Then you should choose long term trading. In day trading you buy and sell within day how could you earn huge profit except you use big capital.
