Mark Zuckerberg wants to introduce a cryptocurrency on Facebook.
January is the month of New Year’s resolutions. Everyone makes one at least. Zuckerberg gave us a glimpse of some of his in a Facebook post yesterday.

On his profile, Zuckerberg highlighted some challenges facing the social media giant. He has always claimed that Facebook’s mission is to “give power to people.” Many hope that technology will be a decentralizing force that will make the individual meaningful.

However, Zuckerberg claims that many people no longer believe in these words. The reason for this is the growth of several tech giants, some governments’ abuse of technology to monitor everyday people. This abuse very often gives the impression that technological development contributes to the centralization of power.

Zuckerberg also announced that he is interested in studying the positive and negative aspects of this technology and will consider how to implement their potential on Facebook.

Consider means nothing, there is too many news reported about a country or a company "consider" to accept or regulate cryptocurrency but nothing implemented so far.
Don't get me wrong, yes it's a good news if Mark Zuckerberg will adopt cryptocurrency in Facebook, but without any real implementation, we can't expect too much of this news.

Considering to do this or that doesn't sell, wanting to do this or that does. It's classic click-bait title tweaking to get a few extra clicks and to make the article seem more interesting than it in reality is. If we look a bit further, it's an okay article in the way that Facebook is just looking at what the options are, but it might take years and years before they actually work everything out, if ever. In all honesty, I don't think we'll hear or see much of this again this year, which at the same time shouldn't be surprising. There is far too much talk going on nowadays from all sorts of entities, but all with no actions to back up their words.

Clickbait. He hasn't said anything about introducing it to facebook, yet the title suggest that he's already decided to do it. He has not!
Also, the fact that he might be interested in cryptocurrencies doesn't say much about which one he's into. It can be dogecoin for all we know.
And this: He has always claimed that Facebook’s mission is to “give power to people CIA.”

Exactly. People are still spread this. He is saying that he wants to study and understand better everything that happens about cryptographic and decentralize systems.

That is because Facebook could be killed if people start to want platforms that only work decentralized and with strong cryptographic. The coin market is part of some changes that will occur. The world will be changed forever.

It's purely a hearsay only, because Zuckerberg haven't totally agree to bring cryptocurrency to Facebook yet. Some even said that Zuckerberg might want to create his own cryptocurrency for Facebook (maybe, it's another rumor from the public as well)

Facebook’s ratings have suffered a hit of late. The “Russia Scandal” has seen widespread criticism of the safety and security of the social media platform. This has been recently demonstrated on CB Insights' Twitter
A poll showed that 59% of people predict that Facebook will be seen as a net negative for society in a decade’s time. This is compared with only 4% for Google, for example. A move to put Facebook on the blockchain could see a level of trust restored, with the underlying technology for cryptocurrencies having received so much attention in 2017: Facebook Going On The Blockchain? - Zuckerberg Facebook Post Hints at Blockchain Adoption by the Social Media Giant

of course mark will join the market, he is one of the biggest man on the world and he will be silly if he not join the business train. he can make money with everything now, cause the essence of facebook is in our life arrived. it is only a question about time when the token is coming to the public.
but what is safe, safe is if the token for facebook is coming - go and buy! be one of the first, it is to 100%sure that he will rush to the top. facebook is everything in our second life. cause since few years, we are living 2 lifes. First the reallife with all manifestation from the past without feelings in social networks. and second the social life, with our perfect pictures and storys and everything bullshit things. you know what i mean. but ok hold on, what i have to say is. crypto is the future, but who regular the future, this is the next question.

I agree with this one. He is considering it but unless there would be a timeline of it then there is still a higher possibility that it will not be implemented. There have been some negative issues regarding facebook about privacy and all and maybe he just want to study the blockchain technology to address those issues and of course to be not left behind because more companies are "considering" blockchain technology so if they are in it then he should too or else his competitions would have an edge over him. Innovation is always important in a business.

I don't think if mark zuckerberg will also need crypto currency since He is a billionaire or trillionaire whatsoever. And if ever it really happen then mark will be the richest among richest with His facebook, every country connects on Facebook. But as what others stated above my post " implementation" is what matters.

He didn't directly say it directly so it's probably not going to happen any time soon. I'd highly doubt it'll be bitcoin too. It's supposed to be something that people would be able to easily and quickly send tips and whatever to each other while liking each others dog pics and giving Facebook all of their data. Dumbass sheep.

That's not what they are saying. He's not, atleast he didn't publicly say that, after more money by investing in cryptocurrency but we wants to study more about cryptocurrency and decentralized networks.

I think that introducing any sort of existing cryoptocurrency to Facebook would actually be bad for bitcoin. People there are used to spoonfed information and easy to use interfaces. If facebook users were exposed to bitcoin the majority would end up very frustrated, likely having a bad opinion about their experience.

I don't know what facebook can do about crypto, but they can do a lot with blockchain. It could pave the way for more democratization in decision making. It could solve the problem of fake news. More accurately maintain records of people. And help catch up with Alibaba in terms of online payments. They are serious as their messaging VP became a member Coinbase bod last year.

I think the headline is wrong, I think Mark Zuckerberg pertains to the usage Blockchain on Bitcoin. Some posters here are just posting without even reading the whole article. Mr. Zuckerberg want to decentralize Facebook and give power to the people rather than use cryptocurrency on Bitcoin as a form of payment for whatever reason it is. You need to read it again. It is possible that Mark Zuckerberg will use Blockchain to fullfill Facebook's mission :to “give power to people.”

Confirmed another Click bait news article. The direct quote of the article doesn't make Zuckerberg say anything about Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency being implement in Facebook. They are creating conclusions with just one post how pathetic can they be? If we are sharing news we must share the right one hopefully from a reliable source as their is no point on sharing news that are not true. I cannot even think of any benefit of having cryptocurrencies in Facebook if you won't use it as some kind of money.

I do not think this is how it goes for billionaire people. They are into cryptocurrency because they want to have much more money. Rich people always strive to get richer, and by getting richer, going bankrupt is reduced. That is why they invest in cryptocurrency because they think about the future.

Giving power to people will result in corruption. And I am not going to discuss that. However, I do believe that Mark Zuckerberg is a good man and is a good example to other people.

Better considering an eventual implementation than neglecting cryptocurrencies.
In case of adoption, cryptocurrencies could increase its values by large.
