The whole Bitcoin network and community (all of its millions of hodlers, lovers, enthusiasts and supporters) have all been yearning for the time when the Bitcoin transaction fees can get into normal again...or better yet get into the most ideal rate much, much lower than what are being implemented today. There are news on the SegWit and the coming Lightning Network and we are hoping that these can be the solutions we are looking for. I know that just like any solution put forward there will always be convincing critics and naysayers (even within the community and this is just part of being democratic anyway).

As one of the many small hodlers and lovers of Bitcoin, do you expect that within this year we can see better and much, much lower fees we can enjoy? Or do foresee that politicking will set again and ruin everything?

I wouldn't hold my breathe on getting cheaper fees but I would expect them to work towards that problem. The only issue with this is the people working towards that issue may not be sensitive to the little guys needs because they will all have a vast amount of BTC. That is my only concern is that they look at us little people and try to make the network fair all around, one can hope anyhow Undecided.

Sure, it's possible! There's no shortage of incentive for the developer community to come up with a real solution. Could it be the Lightning Network? Perhaps. Could it be something else? Sure.

If the politicking continues people will continue to seek another coin that doesn't have such high fees for currency transaction use.

But for you, as a hodler, you shouldn't worry about the fees. You'r hodling, not transacting. And the fees to divest a long hodl are still better than the alternative in the stock and bonds world.
