Well you should move your bitcoins from that wallet to another wallet, make another wallet and move your funds to that one. then it will be completely safe.

My laptop got stolen a few hours ago. It had all my data including bitcoin too. Fortunately I had the seeds with me and I have now installed Electrum on my work machine and recovered the wallet with those keys. It also asked for a password and I have gone with a new one. The wallet is still Synchronizing.
Now my question is, are my bitcoins safe now? Do I need to do anything else? The stolen laptop has the electrum in it, what else should I do to make sure that my bitcoins are secure?
There is no imminent danger if you do not keep wallet's password in the stolen PC. However, if it takes time, the possibility of decrypting the password will be high, so you need to access the wallet soon and move it to another wallet.

this is a valuable experience for you, should always backup your private key data, and also if your laptop is stolen then you should create a new MEW account and move all your coins

Yes you should be okay but just to be safe transfer all your Bitcoin to a new wallet, because you mentioned that all your information is in your laptop and they might be able to guess your new password.

You should change all your security information, or after the sync is complete, create a new wallet and transfer it all through the new wallet.

Even though it asked you to change your old password with a new one I wouldn't risk it and would create a new wallet and send your funds there. You know what they say "Better safe than sorry". Also sorry to hear about your laptop, I'm sure you'll get a better one.

For the meantime it would be safe since that theif doesnt have you password (unless if put your password somewhere in in your laptop.) but I appreicate your concern for your security and still manage to sync everything. All you have to do now, is to transfer it to another wallet. Better be safe than sorry.

Well bro sorry for your lost, if you have your private key every thing will fine just quick change your email private key and also you're wallet. If you put also private key to log in with your laptop the thief will not easy to open it he might be need some time to reprogram your laptop. Here i can say with you by next time don't put your all eggs in one basket. Then your bitcoin balance will be fine.

As long as you don't have a private key on your original computer, your bitcoin is safe, and no one can hack your computer in a short time.

If you have the seeds and it is not saved on your laptop then your bitcoins will be safe. It is safer if the thief doesn't know anything about bitcoin or anything about cryptocurrency because he/she can't do anything about it. Just transfer all of your bitcoins in electrum into another wallet for a safer storage. Maybe the thief just reformat your computer.

This is a really stupid question. Your laptop is stolen and still you want to use the old wallet? You can create a new wallet in about 2 minutes. Please create one and transfer your coins to the new wallet. You never know whether your laptop is in the possession of hackers or not. Better safe now, than sorry later.

That is not enough, even if you had a password in the laptop if it is not encrypted it is very easy to hacked and if the wallet did not had a password or it has the password lying around you could lose your bitcoin, you need to create another wallet and send your money to this new wallet, you are going to lose some money due to the fees but it is better to lose that fee than to lose all your money.

remove your bitcoin to your current wallet and transfer it to a new one. Now pray and hoping that the theft do not have the knowledge to analyze your saved data on your computer like cookies and cache this contains a log of your recent data and transactions. do it before the theft finds out that there is a wallet on that laptop.

If I were him, I will immediately transfer my bitcoin to another wallet as soon as possible, I won't take the risk that he cannot access it, what if he can do it and have the knowledge for it right? So, for security and assurance transfer asap while you can still access it.

Create new wallet and transfer everything to the new one. You lost your laptop and all data, that's the worst thing. Try to recover all and delete all the old things. Peace!

The best way is to create a new wallet and transfer all bitcoins into a new wallet. I think it will be the best option for you Yes, I agree with you. I think it's also more secure. Because if you create a new wallet certainly though your Laptop is stolen, the thief doesn't know your new wallet.

Just pray that the one who took your laptop does not understand any about crypto. But I hope that you have something that would still access your account. Well yeah that what he should be wish for because if that thief knew about bitcoin then it's dead end for him. That's why using hardware wallet is much more safe and secured than any wallets that installed in laptop nor desktop.

If you don't have a clear private key on your computer, it's completely impossible for a hacker to get your bitcoin in a short time.

like all the other's answer, move it to new wallet ASAP, and hope the thief don't know about cryptocurrency. on next, make sure you back up all private keys and wallet data on external hardisk or flashdisk
