Some pools (hey, Slush, do you listen?) still do not implement LONG POLLING. My idea is that what if user installs a small mining proxy which will connect also to bitcoind (or some web service) and will provide client side LONG POLL notification on the other side. Rest of the traffic will pass directly to the pool.

Is it feasible idea?
Isn't it already implemented somewhere?

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.
