Hi all

Check out this address     1BtAi4pEGTnTSpi26eZWvNo4sALddnW5m9

I followed it all the way back as I was suspicious of the betting which was occurring and sure enough it is a SD address Angry

Either that or SD gives coins to random addresses  Roll Eyes

I think it is pretty average to claim fair but not play fair! Can someone post this in the SD thread as being a "noob" I must adhere to the rules.

Peace

Well they strategically place spam bets which just coincidentally aligns with low numbers. It eliminates a person having the ability to get consecutive  (or near consecutive ) numbers, thereby decreasing the chance of winning. ard to explain but I watched this betting sequence for a couple of hours. Here is a small example. they used less than 4000 as the bet.

I mean how many times do you see 4000 win consecutively in a short space of time. And it happened all day.

Hope that makes a bit more sense, but why else would you place bets on your game as an owner?

I assume that english isn't your native language? I'm still struggling to understand what you are concerned about.

If they are placing bets, how does that effect the bets that anyone else places?  What consecutive numbers are you talking about, and how do consecutive numbers decrease the chance of winning?  There is no reason that 4000 shouldn't win consecutively.  Have you done a statistical analysis on the number of occurrences?

I'm not even sure why you think that the address is a SatoshiDice address, but I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be allowed to play their own game if they want.

This is why. It is also a payout address!

1MPerpQzTABa1K2eXQxsQTDSZtDQHWf6vk (0.0089454 BTC - Output)
1BtAi4pEGTnTSpi26eZWvNo4sALddnW5m9 (0.00957989 BTC - Output) Right Here
1dice8EMZmqKvrGE4Qc9bUFf9PX3xaYDp (SatoshiDICE 48% ) (0.02087546 BTC - Output)
1PeohaRGaTF8cSzDqP1yYfzDah66xiriEQ (0.0089454 BTC - Output)

I guess if you play the game it becomes a bit more clearer. Admin claims they do not bet on their own game, yet when I asked them to explain why it is also a payout address they had no response.

I haven't worked out the probability of winning but in the last hour they won 11 times at 4000. It is only in the last few days have I seen 4000 being used which is why I became curious.

These three wins out of ten are neither consecutive nor particularly improbable (indeed, not seeing several runs like this during the day would be extremely improbable).

Incidentally, lucky streaks such as this do not affect the probably of winning any future bets (including bets made by the same player, so this lucky person is just as likely to hit a losing streak and lose all his winnings). There's no cheating going on, just ordinary luck.

I can also find absolutely no evidence that suggests this address belongs SatoshiDICE. I really don't understand what you think is going on.

I don't think the probability of winning or losing is influenced by them playing their own game (If they even are the ones playing it) as all the seeds are pre-generated that they use to calculate the hash and determine win/lose.  You can download the hashes of the seedlist here http://www.satoshidice.com/static/hash.keys to verify the seed used on their released list here http://www.satoshidice.com/secretlist.php is indeed the seed they said they used.

Why would the house play against the house?  Huh Either way I wouldn't bog yourself down in trying to learn the statistics and probability of these kind of gambling games. You would have to be nothing short of a genius to mastermind the way the games play out. Have some fun with the money you can afford to lose and leave it at that. If you want to be a pro then satoshi dice probably isn't the right place for you anyway  Grin

Enjoy your bitcoins  Smiley

If you are willing to accept the word of cryptographic experts that the results of SHA2 are unpredictable and for this purpose can be considered "random", then the rest of the math is pretty basic and easy to understand. No more difficult than understanding that a 6 sided die has a 1 in 6 chance of landing on any given side, and that if the house pays 5 for 1 on that die roll then the house has a 16.67% edge.
