I'm getting a new PC next week which as 2 x 7950's.
I take it I'll have to buy a dummy plug for one of them?

no plugs needed any more for over a year now. I have most my cards running nothing to connected to them at all Wink Some long time ago dummy plugs where needed, not any more Smiley

I just realized that as well. Sad

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Getting timeouts? Which OpenID provider are you using?

Nice to hear you like BitMinter. Smiley

LTC support is much requested lately. I'll take a look at LTC after I finish some important BTC features. I'm currently working on support for BFL ASICs in the miner.

My guess is it is BFL.  MY next guess is that it is their big rig that they were pre selling at 30k USD.  it was supposed to do 1.5Th not .9Th.
I would have thought BFL would mine at Eclipse (Inaba) or Eligius (Luke).

Just a guess, but did you:
1. Uninstall the old Nvidia drivers?
and
2. Install the AMD drivers?

Power down correctly each time I wrote power down.

yeah below is slow and tedious but may work.

1) power down  wait 60 seconds

2)make sure only the amd card is in machine .

3)boot uninstall again nvidia first if it say nothing detected  power off machine. wait 60 seconds

4)boot try again if it still says undetected. power off machine. wait 60 seconds

5)boot uninstall the amd power off the machine wait 60 seconds

 6) boot install the amd power off the machine

7) boot check your java install if good go to bitminter and try.

sometimes the drivers don't fully uninstall and or install if you boot with a restart.  full power down works.

thanks

So it's supposed to work with Xp ?

The AMD SDK used for mining doesn't exist for WinXP.  Check the info on the AMD site.

I had to upgrade to Vista/7/8 when I went from the 5xxx series to 7970s.

Can we get a filter to see just the cash outs? By currency (as was suggested earlier) would be great too!

Yeah, it's on my TODO list.

Currently over 1000 new users every day and a flood of emails with newbie questions. That's taking a lot of my time to handle.

If some experienced miners can donate a few minutes of their time to answer questions from newbies in the IRC channel (#bitminter on freenode) that would free up some time for me to improve the pool instead of answering the same questions over and over. Tongue

BitMinter to take 1% fee - still most profitable of top 10 pools

BitMinter has been zero fee for a long time. Unfortunately this is not a sustainable way to run a pool because most miners set their donation to 0%.

We will be moving to a 1% fee on saturday 20th of april.

We are still the most profitable of the big pools, due to low fee, paying out namecoins (6% extra income), paying out income from transaction fees (1% to 2% extra income) and being safe from pool hopping.

What happens on the 20th of april:
- 1% mining fee takes effect (BTC and NMC)
- Prepay perk cost reduced to 1.5% (from 2%)
- Users with prepay on will have their donation reduced by 0.5%. Set it back up afterwards if you like.
- New users will have a 1.5% default donation (rather than 2%)

There will also be more perks coming, but I can't promise any timeframe on that.

BitMinter has been zero fee for a long time. Unfortunately this is not a sustainable way to run a pool because most miners set their donation to 0%.

I've been mining on bitminter for several months now and I can't recommend it enough - okay sometimes the pool gets unlucky but sometimes it's also really lucky - it all balances out.  With a lot of new hashpower coming online, the variance is also the lowest it's been.  Out of all the shares I've submitted I just calculated that my stale/reject rate is 0.076% which is pretty good.

Thanks to DrHaribo for maintaining the pool.

  good idea.
And also on email, for those where you have a record. Using the API it is not necessary to check here or the website.

Yep, emails will go out. It's on the website in the lower right corner under "news", but I will add something that is easier to notice.

Not sure if I should spam 40 000 people with it. Maybe I should limit it to users who were active in the last months.

So far the message has gone out on twitter, facebook, google+ and bitcointalk. It's the twitter message that is on the bitminter.com website.
