Was thinking ETH , ETC(new pump coming soon-> japan DMM exchange luanch on 11 january) , Elix , PRL , Blue , AMP .

Depends on how much risk you want to take. I agree with ETH, PRL and Elixir. I would buy those. And in case you want to buy PRL and/or Elixir, I would do it now. I think we are not going to see those coins at these values anymore.

PS: Glad to hear that you're doing your own research. This forum is incredible, but always trust your knowledge and instinct.

If you have 1200 money for your portofolio then you are not really very new.
However, investing in any altcoin you know that the risk and the return is involve. Your choice is depending of the return or risk you want to. If you need more safety investment ( not 100% safe ) so choose etherium like me.

Try to buy Siacoin and Dogecoin and hold it there will be a huge pump incoming again by these two coins. Siacoin incoming hardfork would make a big impact and it would happen this last week of January of by first week of February. If you are going for a long term of investment try to buy Canya Coin available at Kucoin or wait for Tokenpay to be available on exchanges that would be announced so soon.

What to buy is depending on how much risk you want to take? If its high risk and high return then ico project is the answer. Doing some research before buying the ico token is good idea.
Second, if you want more stable altcoin then etherium is the answer.

Buy chinacoin like binance token, kucoin and bibox token. This token have own exchanger same platform and china based.
Why token is good? Because if you have token in exchanger you have a discount withdrawal 50% off.
I grab the opportunity the 50% off. And i think all traders need some discount so i bought china token and i believed all of china token will pump by 10000%.

Let me give you some friendly advice when it comes to investing in altcoins.

I congratulate you in making the decision to invest your $1,200 there. First and foremost, never put all of your eggs in a single basket. I suggest you should split your $1,200 into different altcoins that were having the potential to grow, and mix them with short and long term holdings.

My parents recently decided to invest in altcoins, so I'm doing the same advice for them.

It depends on you which ones are the best to buy right now, but I cannot recommend a lot because altcoins are very speculative. You just need to learn how to manage your risks.

I recommend AION, ICON and WANCHAIN this three are doing really good in this industry AION and ICON are already listed in coin market capitalization, this three have alliance to each other and will be using blockchain 3.0 the latest version of blockchain. You can find their websites on coinmarketcap their ICO already ended the only way to buy is on markets.

Still better to do your own research when investing bro so you won't regret what will you do, investing in crypto's doesn't really give you the assurance to profit so it is a risk. The higher the risk the higher the profit or losses. It's better to study them first before making a move.

IMO I'll make like this 60% on ethereum, 20% make an invesment on an ICO, the rest lookin for some potential low cap altcoin.
Sometimes make speculation on low cap altcoin can make high proffit, but off course it has high risk too.
