Hello, everyone.

I'm getting into the mining business. I was wondering if Miner Bros and Sesterce are worth dealing with? From what I can gather online both look like trustworthy online shops where I can purchase ASICs. Considering these things aren't cheap, I decided to ask around just to be double sure about this. I'm sure everyone understands that my stupid question is important to me.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Never heard of either of them.
Assuming you are looking for BTC mining gear - this area IS for Bitcoin only, NO altcoin discussion allowed here - then I and most others will always say to purchase ONLY from the manufacturer or distributors that the manufacturer lists on their website. As far as makers of BTC miners, your only choices are those from Bitmain, Canaan, and MicroBit (Whatsminers) and Innosilicon.

Innosilicon.com has the t2t30.  And the t3t57 both mine btc.

@NotFuzzyWarm
Yeah, I'm here to talk about bitcoin. I'm thinking of getting 2 StrongU STU-U8's (46 TH/s) for mining bitcoin. According to pretty much all sources I found online Miner Bros are an official distributor of StrongU, so I assume this is the option I should go with, but it would be nice for someone here on the forums to confirm these guys are trustworthy. The official StrongU site does list Miner Bros in the footer and contacts page.

Never heard of that brand and I've been mining BTC since early 2014.
Unless someone else can chime in and prove otherwise I strongly suspect SCAM so, BUYER BEWARE

Again, the ONLY known manufacturers of BTC miners that have proven equipment in production are Bitmain, Canaan, MicroBT, and Innosilicon. Once in a while hotmine.io will have equipment up for sale as well but that is a rarity.

Treat any other brands as HIGHLY SUSPECT!

here's their website
https://strongu.com.cn/

@NotFuzzyWarm
So you're saying the hardware might be unreliable? I looked into the company some more, and looks like it's a relatively new manufacturer.

No, I am saying that odds are those miners do not even exist. Vaporware. SCAM. Whatever you want to call it, stay far far away unless you can find a trusted person here that has reviewed them.

I already looked at their website and the specs/prices are way out of line with specs/pricing from proven manufacturers.

Hmm, alright. Thanks for the tip. Also this pretty much the only unboxing/review I could find on the thing online https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mGTurbcRh0 Other than that, yeah, I can't really find people talking much about these models and this manufacturer.

Yes and cheetah miner list great deals on their miners.

I suspect both are scams.

There has been a scam that comes back every six months.

A miner is offered with good price good hash rate and good power rate.

You buy the miner and point it to one place which is their pool. And or server.

You must point there.  And lo and behold you get the hash and you think it is a good deal.

What happens is they see that miner you pointed and tack on some rental hash to it.

Once they sell a lot of gear they shut the server and you have nothing .

You may want to check this out - Current List of Competitive Hardware - July 2019

This list covers pretty much every legit manufacturer going back to 2017. Some of them have gone under or just haven't put out gear in a while and can still be found in the OP. The listed gear is the most efficient offerings from each manufacturer. The links are good and lead you to the companies or their distributors. Canaan lists their distributors on their website based on the country you want to order from.

With the recent price run-up and low supply of new gear shipping out a lot of scam re-seller sites will pop up again. It costs like 10$ to throw together a legit looking site with chat support, I remember 2017/18 you couldn't search gear without being bombarded by scam offerings.
