Automated Linux setup for Java miner

For those of you that want a simple setup file that saves the hassle of copy and pasting lots of terminal commands please do the following -

1. Download the setup file from - https://www.dropbox.com/s/b635zpubj5ku21g/java_miner

2. Right click on the file after you have downloaded it and select "Properties"

3. Click on the "Permissions" tab

4. Select "Allow executing file as a program"

5. Click "Close"

6. You can now double click the file and select "Run in terminal"

The script will start by asking you your ARO wallet address, install the dependencies and then run the miner.

Hi everyone,

as mentioned a few pages ago I started developing a CPU miner for Arionum (ARO) in Go. Finally I can report that everything is working fine now and my first performance tests were quite promising.
The project is open source under a GNU GPLv3 license and I invite you to check that their is nothing sketchy in the code.

So here we go: https://bitbucket.org/MarcelPeters/aro-cpu-miner/

Features:
  • Configurable worker count
  • No developer fee
  • Pool updates, submits etc. are running in background - no mining interruptions!
  • Runs on every platform that is supported by Go
  • 100% written in Go

Let me know what you think and I'm really looking forward to hear about your hash rates!

Nice work, installed and working right from the go.

Hashrate on an i5-7600 was around 3.2 h/s

I am really sorry for the stupid question, but I am not a programmer, hence the question - how to start mining with the GO miner? I edited the .json file, but I cannot understand how to run this thing.

EDIT: I am running Win10.

At the moment I only provide the source code and you have to compile it on your own. To compile it you have to install Go first (see https://golang.org/doc/install). With go get and go build you should be able to build a binary for the platform of your choice.

Next week I'll be able to provide Windows binaries and instructions for compilation. Currently I don't have a Windows machine around.

Can't install Go tools, is there a simple tutorial?

I was now able to build a binary for Windows 64 Bit thanks to VirtualBox. Here's the downloads: https://bitbucket.org/MarcelPeters/aro-cpu-miner/downloads/

Will also add instructions for building on Windows on your own soon.

Pretty sure you need to install .NET framework for it to work properly

As for an exchange, we are currently in talks regarding an exchange but nothing has been set in stone just yet

I have net framework here already.
tried upgrading it to version 4.5 and it said I already have a newer version than that

you know which would be the correct version to run the wallet without problems?

What about Visual Studio C++ pack? https://aka.ms/vs/15/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

Also make sure you are not trying to install 32 bit on a 64 bit system or vice verca

Hi there, you need to download the LightWallet CLI from github - https://github.com/arionum/lightWalletCLI

The github page also gives you usage instructions.

Unfortunately there is no Linux GUI as of yet but it is on our roadmap.

Any active exchange for ARO?

Not currently, however we are in talks with several options, but nothing set in stone yet.

The community as a whole are keen to get ARO listed on an exchange and have been supportive through the donation and raffle program.
